OA in the fight to make the team next year are Miedema, Hay MCGowan Bishop and Vaccari.
With Bishop and McGowan do you really think Uen is more important
Soto would in mymind only count as you are weak at RW
No one is going to trade for Miedema before NHL trainiing camps open I alsodonot see a huge demand for him or anyone else on the team. There are not teams that are looking for OA most already have their full compliment. Only 2 teams next yer willstart is less than 3 OA.
Whole point is with our inevitable tear down next year- I see McGowan, Miedema, Soto traded for sure, Hay probably too as the coaches obviously think he’s very valuable based off coaches poll so he likely gets traded but I’d welcome him back for sure. If he’s back I’ll pick him or Hopkins as the captain. Perhaps he’s captain to start and if/when he gets moved Hopkins takes over around deadline.
With guys like bishop who are good but not exactly GREAT. Not sure if someone goes out of their way to trade for him unless it’s part of a package deal(especially as an OA)
All 19 other teams would be interested in McGowan and Hay for sure. A team like London/Kitchener would probably be interested in Miedema and a change in scenery could be all he needs to get going again. Some teams with scoring trouble may take a chance on Soto to be in their top 6- definitely think his time in kingston is done from some things I’ve heard during the year about him. In off season he should be gone for sure- went from 1st/2nd line mins all the way down to apparently 6 mins per game clearly Mann isn’t a fan. (Hey that rhymes)
Reason why I think vaccari stays with 4 OA they don’t have to trade for a 06/07 to play 20/30 games prob with Betts. Also glue guy.
Pickell- good reg season, fans LOVE him, players LOVE him (from what I’ve seen) and he’s not as skilled as a guy like Miedema/soto so he probably is worth more to Kingston than to another team. Glue guy
Uens- Kingston area boy, leader, blocks shots, players and most fans LOVE how he puts the body on the line- not good enough to be an OA on a contending team so therefore more value to Kingston than to another team. Glue guy.
Bishop- not good enough to be an OA on a contending team (unless he improves a lot)and Kingston will have a bunch of d better than him graduating or likely getting traded because of more value (McGowan). Seems like a quieter guy but not a bad thing- probably doesn’t have too many enemies in locker room for it.
With how bad the fronts COULD end up being next year they’ll need some vets there on the team to pick up the rookies and other players when the going gets tough. Look at Pete’s before they added Gavin bryant(0 leadership in locker room) the fronts aren’t going to try and be like that.
