Did they do it in 2 separate trades just so it didn’t seem like they paid so much lol or is there a limit on number of picks that can be in 1 deal

Overpaid for 3 mem cup champions. Bishop will be back next year. Have to pay to play.

Really hurt not having a 16 year old they can trade and weir and Velliaris don’t have much value

Remaining picks + Lalonde probably
Hay will be back too. He’s not getting signed, outside of winning face offs, he’s not very good.

Hard to play against, tough, playoffs guy, great on faceoffs, mem cup experience.

Nobody’s saying we didn’t overpay for these guys lol but no 16 year old doesn’t help. Also they’ll get a lot of these picks back next year when they trade guys in the off season(OA’s) and the deadline (Soto, Battaglia)

And...when was the last time that 4th pick in 2028 did anything for us---complete no show and invisible as hell.

why do teams register trades wthi the ohl? why wouldnt they?

Register and confirm ok but should they not also consider how such a lopsided trade looks on the league. Not sure what they should do and I understand if both teams are happy as Kingston must be, but man this does not look good and may have negative affect on the franchise.
This isn't much different than all of Niagara's questionable trades so I guess it is out of their control and it is what it is.

Don’t mind Kingston’s first 3 lines. Not sure the defence and goaltending holds up they need to make another move to upgrade both

That just might be the worst OHL trade I have ever seen. Hay is one of the league's worst defensive players and doesn't contribute much offensively either. I saw him a ton last year and he was a massive liability in every single game.

Bishop is a nice second pairing piece, but I'm just blown away that a contending team would actually value Hay's contributions. Pure insanity.
For 2023/24 Season
Hay was 3rd for Western conference for best PKer

For 2022/23 season
Hay rated 2nd for Western conference for best in face offs and rated 2nd for Western conference as best defensive forward.

Interesting when all coaches think he one of the top densensive forwards in the league.

I think with Maleek back in the mix the Burns- Pieniemmi and McGowan - Bishop top 4 is going to be good. I think another guy to play with Williamson knocking Uens to 7 would be good.

Not gonna lie, giving up that much draft capital you should have gotten Misa and Parekh for that price of Willis, Hay and Bishop.
I know I called and said that but was told that they would only be traded if Kingston included Uens but that’s completely out of question so Kingston settled

I just saw the second trade for Willis. Not sure why two trades and not announced together to eliminate some of the backlash of the first.
8 more picks and player for an 05 rental.

They are simply picks - some may turn out, most won’t - and the league is more concerned about the actual players and ensuring that consideration is made for real people instead of hypothetical players

I agree. Mitch young on sarnia would be an awesome trade but not sure they have the assets to get that done right now, maybe after the rumoured McNamara trade gets done they’ll have enough then. Wouldn’t make sense trading away Lalonde after getting 3 of his buddies as much as I’d like them to get Schenkel. I wonder if that would throw off a room.

Dumping McNamara will greatly improve the rooms chemistry no matter what else happens. Lalonde is apparently incredibly popular in the room - maybe that matters maybe it doesn’t

It just so rarely works out spending this many picks on no elite player. Hay is a gamer. KGN fans will like him if they can forget what he cost. Money on draws. Physical. Leader. Not much offense to him though. only 13 points this yr on a team that plays offensive/fast. -19 isn't great either.

Bishop I've never been very impressed by. He's big & definitely takes away space which is nice, but he's really inconsistent for playing mean/physical for his size & he's not great with the puck. Playing sheltered I think he'll do fine, but if you put him out there against OSH/BRNT/BAR/LDN/WSR top-6 guys he'll get exposed.

Willis is good. Does a bit of everything. Also a gamer. My worry. he scored 13 goals in 1 week this year. the other 21 games he only has 4 goals. Also that almost all his goals came off assists by Misa or Parekh. He isn't a guy who generates by himself or can drive a line.

I'm pretty dumbfounded by the cost for these 3. I would've laughed them off the phone if they asked for 16 picks & 3 young guys, even if they don't look to be overly promising. Would've been MUCH better spent on Musty/Pinelli/McCue/Smith etc.
