Lol with what picks we went and blew them all

I hope they can get a d man like Mitch young from sarnia or Charlie Schenkel in goal from the Soo.

Other than that I don’t think they can make anymore moves.

i'd do shenkel for a 2nd and 4th or 5th

he gives our young, inexperienced team a chance to win every night.

Kingston could use a goalie upgrade. I just could not justify replacing Lalonde with the goalie he beat in last seasons playoff plus pay a premium. It would have to be an OA plus a chance on Bowen, Krawchuk, Robertson; perhaps OA Flores as a last resort.

Willis-Guindon-Uronen
Battaglia-Hopkins-Soto
Miedema-Hay-Heyes
Pickell-Buttar-Clark
Kelly

Burns-Williamson
Pieniniemi-Bishop
McGowan-Uens
Moore

This is what I've got with the moves they've made + pending McNamara trade - I'm guessing they'll try and go lefty/right on D but if they don't it'd be Pieniniemi/Burns, McGowan/Bishop, Williamson/Uens.

Especially if Miedema clicks back into the pesty side of the game that third line could be a nightmare to play against. Hay and Bishop should also give a big boost to the PK, having Guindon and Hay being able to take faceoffs will be key.

Playoffs:

Nolan Lalonde: 5-7, .893 SV%

Charlie Schenkel: 6-3, .913 SV%

Schenkel stood on his head in what was essentially a 60 minute penalty kill each game. Lalonde was just ok in what will probably end up being the best stretch of play in his junior career.

Judging by wins and losses is an old fashioned and ineffective way to evaluate a goalie, but even when you do, it's not even close.

By trading for 3 defensive minded players, the Fronts have essentially leaned into their defensive identity. An elite goalie would be the cherry on top. I believe that the issue that's been holding up the deal for over a month is finding a landing spot for Lalonde. Terms are generally agreed to, but Doug won't make the deal if the Hounds release him.

[(I would not)] replace a goalie with one that he beat, and pay a premium; end of conversation.

I can't believe you would be this pig headed and ignorant in person. If you ever come to the Soo, let me know. I'll buy you a beer at the game. You can cry on my shoulder ever time they score.

I can assure that I will not cry every time Schenkel is scored upon, or any goalie for that matter.

The Fronts have recently undergone a significant improvement in their performance, with these additions they now have a more balanced approach across all four lines, a respectable defense, and goalies who are slightly above average. However, is this sufficient? I believe they may still be in need of another goalie and another D for depth in their back-end, I would suggest Schenkel and Mews, preferably or the likes of them. This would make them strong contenders in the East, anything can happen from there. In my humble opinion

Out of 26 qualified goaltenders, neither of your goalies are in the top 20 in SV%.

Good team, but the goaltending is embarrassingly bad, by far the worst of any playoff team

The top 20 that includes 2 Peterborough goalies and one North Bay goalie? How’s their seasons going? Hell Oster is 20th and Leenders is 21st - don’t think they are panicking about goaltending at this point. The fronts came back and beat an almost complete Oshawa team last week scoring 6 unanswered goals - Lalonde made some key saves during the comeback.

Betts was in net - Lalonde hasn't played Oshawa well this year at all. Even though he's only 16 I to think there's a argument to be made that Betts has been the best of three so far this year.

McIvor is 9th, Bowen is 11th, Oster is 14th and Lenders is 16th. There is only one Peterborough goalie. The first two are having especially impressive seasons, given the lack of talent in front of them.

The only goalies with stats as awful as Lalonde and Vaccari are on non-contenders, as one would expect. The Soo (Miller), Guelph, Saginaw, and Ottawa. Schenkel's stats are remarkable given the horrible defense that they have rolled out.

I’m not sure what point you are making? Schenkel is a good goalie, not sure that’s a debate is it? Do you have a vendetta against him and want him traded?

I agree with everything you have said on here regarding goalies

Schenkel would give them a top 5-10 goalie which is much needed. Kingston will get exposed playing a team like Oshawa or Barrie or maybe even Brampton in the playoffs with their 3 goalies

Heard a rumour today #19 may come back. Not 100% sure it’ll come into fruition but something to keep an eye on.

Shoot I actually meant to say that Betts was in net but got sidetracked mid sentence and then added Lalonde
It's a dangerous game eliminating games from a goalie's stats, but I took a quick look at Lalonde's numbers without Oshawa and his numbers are actually decent with a SV% of 0.901. 4 of his 6 worst games are against Oshawa, and outside of Oshawa he has serviceable numbers - I could argue serviceable isn't exactly what you want if you're using an OA spot on a goalie, but 0.901 is a lot better than I expected.

Still needs to figure out Oshawa though

That’s interesting and against everything I have heard however things change and evolve. If that happens it will mean one of Heyes (who if you believe some was told he is safe) or Lalonde - which mean they need another goalie that isn’t an OA.

I heard it from someone I don’t know if I’d label a source but has always been pretty well connected. Could be wrong, could be right. Really hoping they’re right.

May I present to you Zachary Bowen!:naughty:

If Ludwinski is back that would make things extremely interesting... Bowen would make too much sense if Lalonde is the one that gets moved for 19.
