The 67s for most years have had free entry for kids in minor hockey (with an accompanying adult). I’m sure that couldn’t hurt for the Fronts.
Oh wow I had no idea about that. I assume kingston isn’t like that for whatever reason. They definitely should look into that. You’ll make the ticket back anyways with the outrageous prices of the fronts shop and the food and beverages sold there.

Whoever is in charge of all of this needs to get their head checked lol. If they lowered the ticket prices they’d still make it back with the food and fronts shop prices easily

The challenge with concessions is that usually, the team does not get any of that money. Is it different in Kingston.

@Truthking is right. At this stage, the only way you could get a large crowd offer 2 dollar tickets and free beer. I'm not sure you would fill the place or that people would watch the game but.....

Going to a Fronts game used to be an event each week.

It was something that you looked forward to.
The difference was that it was a fun night out, watching good hockey, meeting with friends, and sharing a coffee and those great Browns Fries with the other regular hot stove members.

Hell, it used to be a date night for a lot of high school kids.

Kingston was a thriving economy. Alcan, Dupont, and Milhaven Fibre were going strong. People were living a good life. tickets were cheap, and the Canadians/early Fronts had good teams.

The problem now is partly everything we have discussed. most people live in the west end, so it is a pain to go home, get the kids organized, get supper and then go to the game.

Imagine if they had built the area out where the township did off the 401 at Highway 38.

Anyway, they still wouldn't be getting the big crowds. People got fed up with the We sell everything for a run this year and then spend the next three sucking.

The downfall fan-wise started with Mav, unfortunately. He and Springer had the idea that you had to make the first round no matter what the cost and kept trading young players for OA, getting rid of coaches that had long-term plans and wanted a disciplined team.

Then Springer decided to make the big pronouncement that the team needed a new arena in order for him to fill the stands and provide a better on-ice product. I am not debating if a new arena was needed. That is a given. The location of the new arena will long be debated by old fogies like me.

But after getting the new arena, it was the same old Mav same old team.

Ottawa to an extent, went through this the difference was that they had a coach and GM who knew what he was doing, But I can honestly say that as far as pinching pennies Springer has nothing on Earl and Howard.

Everything we have talked about prices, parking, location, cost of food, That all goes away IF they do one thing and do it right.

Springer spends some more money gets a bigger business right off, hires a GM who knows what to do and gives him the money to hire a top coach that has been around for a while and wins. Then they give him a team that he can develop along with the ability to put together a 5-10-year plan with the GM.

Why do you go to the theatre these days? Because it is a movie you want to see. Do you care about the price NO.

Why do you go to X for dinner is it because you are hungry or they have the food you love?

Why do people pay through the nose to go to concerts is it just for the music or is because of love for a band or singer?

Just a aha the last time a Kingston Frontenacs team won a championship was 60 years ago 1963 as a farm team of the Boston Bruins

Harry Sinden was a young assistant coach. Many of the players went on to the NHL.

You can bet there was no one complaining about prices matter of fact they were probably complaining there were no more seats LOL

Great game by the fronts today.
They looked pretty solid today and vaccari was excellent. Glad the offence finally was clicking. Breakout games for thibodeau and battaglia.

Hopefully Caputi keeps these lines going forward as they obviously worked today.

Windsor, London and Niagara for a tough road trip for the fronts. If they win all 3 they’re 5-3. If they lose all 3 they’re 2-6.

Very big and important trip here early in the season. I predict they win 2/3 losing to London. I expect salajko will start against Windsor or Niagara. Vaccari needs to play against London. If he doesn’t we are going to have a long game.

They always play bad in Windsor though so that’s something to look at even if it’s a “rebuilding year” for Windsor. believe it will be meidemas first game back at the wfcu centre.

We should beat Niagara but they got a lot better over the summer with trades and new acquisitions. Will be an interesting week.

Still no idea what happened to burns.

If anyone has insight on that and wouldn’t might sharing it I would appreciate that.
Burns is/was back in St. Louis for treatment to his injury suffered at their camp

I heard that they wanted to monitor and work with him in the team facilities in st.louis as he was injured there and they have the details/history of it.
yeah that makes sense. They send them home until they are able to actually work with the injury. A whole lot better than having them sit in a hotel or somewhere by themselves in St Louis. Once they evaluate and decide on treatment and see it working they will send him back if they think the Fronts have the facilities to look after him. If not then they will either keep him there or find somewhere closer to home for him to get the assistance.

Makes sense. I swear though I saw him walking around before our first home game against Oshawa not on crutches or anything lmao. Well hopefully it heals quickly.

Big game in Windsor tonight. Miedemas first game back. You’d have to think he wants to do pretty well tonight first game back in Windsor after they shipped him off to go on a run.

Big win in Windsor tonight!
I never watched the game but hemstrom with 3 points for 8pts in 6 games.

Thibodeau seemingly is finding his stride with 2 goals this game- 6 points in 6 games

And Heyes 2 goals and an assist to put him at 5 points in 6 games despite playing mainly 3rd/4th line minutes

Very impressed with those 3 and their production so far this year.

Ludwinski got his first goal of the year and an assist he had 4pts in 3 games

Miedema got stopped on a penalty shot unfortunately- going pointless in his return to Windsor.

Onto London tomorrow.

In my opinion regardless of the goalie they play tomorrow they’ll likely end up losing but I think they should play salajko and then save vaccari for niagara.

If they go 2/3 this week that’s great.

If they play vaccari tomorrow yes he gives a better chance of winning but he likely won’t be playing against Niagara which is a game they need to win as they’ll likely be the worst team that they’ve gone against so far this year- just my 2 cents.

In my opinion London is way over overrated. They were totally outplayed in Peterborough tonight. If it was not for Michael Simpson and the referees favouring London at a crucial point in the game the Petes would have won by a wide margin.

I hope you’re right!

On paper they should be amazing- still early in the season with growing pains perhaps. They’re coached by the best coach in the O and constantly have kingstons number no matter the year no matter the circumstances of the teams.

Would be amazing if they could pull off a win tomorrow.

What??? Heyes scores 2 and has an assist also? This can't be. Must've been given an opportuntity. And poole with an assist and great on faceoffs? Must've had an opportunity
good win

When is Salajko gonna start? Kingston's one of only 3 teams that's had only one goalie see icetime along with Guelph and Oshawa - and they've both only played 4 games to Kingston's 6...

Ktown. They’re given opportunities every game. They’re always on the pk and a few games they played with miedema. they’re nothing more than role players for the most part. They’re good role players but that’s it.

Heyes has a couple of good games like that every season. If he can build consistency and do that once every couple of games he will play more but he does that every like 15 games and that’s generous.

Poole every game is great on faceoffs. You’re not gonna play Poole as the first line centre though over guys like ludwinski who is way better just because he’s better on faceoffs.

I think the smart play would be tonight. No pressure on the kid Londons the better team hopefully he can squeeze out the win and then vaccari is rested for Niagara as that’s a must win.

If they go 2/3 this week that’s great and they’ll be an over 0.500 team for the first time this season I believe.

However I also wouldn’t be surprised if vaccari played because he’s the way better goalie and they don’t wanna get smoked by London.

caputi still fighting to keep his job, vaccari will get 8or 9 out of 10 games
Oh for sure. But it has been a hard schedule so far.

Defending champs before they’ve made a bunch of roster moves, Oshawa for 2 games- rivalry games home and home, Sudbury aka the best team in the east, Ottawa which is another rivalry game- usually close, and Windsor who we usually suck against. Now we play London where he haven’t beaten them in the last 5 years and they have the best roster in the ohl so far.

When we start playing teams like sarnia after they cool down and Pete’s after they make trades and Kitchener and these kind of teams that will be rebuilding salajko will play the majority of those games I’m sure.

I think the first game will be against Niagara this week for salajko but I’d like him to start tonight as I don’t think there would be as much pressure in a game many expect kingston to lose.

Frontsfan, noone said poole is better than ludwinski, Ask the team if Heyes was a role player last night or last week in fact

Okay well he’s a centre and if he’s gonna keep winning the faceoffs and doing all that stuff do you think he’s gonna stray from being a centre?

If he were to play more he would be taking the minutes of ludwinski a second round draft pick, Hopkins the 4th overall selection of this past years draft, or outwater a proven 50+ point man when healthy decent 2 way game too.

Poole is not playing more minutes than those guys I listed and when frasca comes back and will be getting second line minutes Poole isn’t playing above him either.

So who is he going to play above that I listed? He gives it his all and he’s good on faceoffs but he’s not playing more than any of those guys.

Salajkos first game of the season is tonight. Caputi listened to me lol. Hopefully it goes well.

Not able to watch but is Salajko doing as badly as the stats show or are they all high quality chances?

A lot of bad goals. Clearly is not ohl ready. This is one of the most frustrating games that I’ve watched in a while.

Outplaying London but the powerplay absolutely sucks. The place has sucked too which is a surprise. Their goalie is playing well. Our goalie is playing like a peewee. Unreal.

Hopefully they can break the shutout but this is horrible. They need to send salajko down to the ojhl or something to get his confidence up and pick up an ohl ready backup.

I’m sure salajko will be better as the year goes on but this is bad.

OK Enough is enough already. This coaching staff needs to be fired by morning. Kick them off the bus and Cooper step on bench, or Springer needs to get rid of you. Yes London is a top team but Caputi is never going to figure it out and has absolutely no respect from the players. Lol A couple wins the last few games and everyone is happy. This team will only win games when the kids win them in spite of coaching. How can we witness the same thing over and over and over and not make changes. Again, like always. No accountability or earn your ice time. I decided to keep some game notes tonight for fun, they may be a bit all over the place but what I saw in order of game with a few little comments on some because typing them here afterwards...

-This PP???? Right back to last year already. Hemstrom give away on PP for a short handed goal and right back out there again to finish the PP. Almost gives up another one again but goalie bailed him out. He is not a PP quarterback. He is not a PP quarterback!!! He just isn't.

-Now he starts the next PP again!!!!

-Salajko is not OHL ready. People wondering why Vaccari has started every game? Fronts up 7-2 in shots and down 2-0 early.

-Now another shorty with that unit out there nd Goalie looking behind him in net before Cowan even shoot but hung out to dry by PP unit again..

-Miedema shooting from forehand side on PP from 30 ft out on every PP is getting old but not as old as the Hemstrom giveaways on PP.

LOL. Another Shorty on a Hemstrom giveaway. You cant make this up. Do the coaches have eyes?????

Oh. bit of a change here on PP. McGowan is out like a few times already this year,. He has three career points going into this season "3" That's not a typo. I like it better than the five fwds though.
-Shots are 20-16 for Fronts after 2 periods and down 6-0 ???????

-7-1 now and a few more shorthanded chances against when we revert to the 5 fwds on PP yet again.

-Hahahahaha. Another shorty against, 5 fwds out there. Even the announcers are commenting on the Pathetic PP.

Stopped taking notes. The players need to mutiny if Cooper or Springer refuse to make changes.
