Great first period by the fronts. 2 powerplay goals both by Soto. Outshot OS 14-7. Good way to start game.
Your team played a good game.OS made it close at the end. Fronts won 4-3. Another game where they play half of the game. They were up 4-0 at one point and took the gas off. Powerplay has been better last 2 games though. Regardless I’d say still there needs to be a change. Owen sound has been struggling since putting rumble as head coach and fronts barely escaped with the win there at the end.
I agree they looked good until about half way through. Then 2 surprising back to back goals pretty much for kingston and then a couple mins later you guys scored 2 of your own. Third period fronts are very lucky to come away with the win after how they performed. You guys got better as the game went on- our guys had the opposite happen lol- perhaps because of coaches.Your team played a good game.
Clean zone entries, PP clicked.
Played well , fought to win on the road .
Your goalie played well.
This will be an interesting week for the Fronts I think they my have saved Caputi's job. Now to see what they are like next week.
No way dude they got smoked Friday lost yesterday too both games giving up 6 goals 1 of the games a short handed goal. This game sure they were up 4-0 but with the final 22 mins of the game OS scored 3 goals but could’ve been more it was essentially 3 goals in around 7 min. Outshot 15-2 in 3rd period. Last 10 mins was an Owen Sound shooting clinic. Very lucky to get the win today. This will be an interesting week for the Fronts I think they my have saved Caputi's job. Now to see what they are like next week.
Hope so! That’s what I’d like to hear lol. Would be unfortunate losing a guy like ludwinski if they made that trade but this is something they need to doAlso could see the Fronts land Chromiak
Also could see the Fronts land Chromiak
Before they start adding players they need to clean up or solidify the mistakes behind the bench and in the front office.Hope so! That’s what I’d like to hear lol. Would be unfortunate losing a guy like ludwinski if they made that trade but this is something they need to do
I think if they replace Caputi, it may be with an internal (cooper) to avoid having to pay 2 coaches. If they bring in a person already on payroll for interim role then they don't need to pay 2. I agree about Callens, but honestly has Savard done much either -- he's slow, mostly useless and despite a couple of assists saves most of his effort for after the whistle.I don't believe anything will change. The Fronts accept mediocrity and 1 win in 3 will be accepted as a good weekend. It all comes down to money and that won't be spent. Scouting is poor...coaching is poor and management is poor. It's a tax write-off with the hope a miracle happens. The only change this week might come in the overages situation. Callens is terrible and if that can't be see by management....lol..forget that..it's obvious so it will never happen..
I get what you are trying to say, but I actually think Bedard would do fine in any situation -- the difference being he's a generational talent and most are not and do require additional support and guidance. All that being said, Caputi has players that would thrive in situations created for them to be successful, but hasn't built that environment. there is zero accountability for players who are selfish or lazy - nor is there reward for some players who do the right things, play the right way. The power play is just a single example of someone that refuses to find a different solution - j ust keep ramming the square peg into a round hole. And sure they scored a couple goals on the weekend - but even a broken clock is right 2x a day. Before they start adding players they need to clean up or solidify the mistakes behind the bench and in the front office.
Yes, Caputi is making mistakes BUT it is Cooper who brought in the players, it is the scouts who draft the players and it is the owner and GM who set the tone for the team.
Imagine Bedard going to a team that has weak coaching an ineffective system and no support.
Not knocking Sarnia, but there really isn't much else in terms of entertainment there.Sarnia hasn’t had much success either but they do better than kingston for fans and they have close to half our population.
I agree with you on the Univ/College thing - they do need to market with some discounted tickets. They should also be giving the hockey teams here on tournaments -which will be nearly every weekend - give the players $5 tickets and adults accompanying them $15 bucks -- put them in the ends or corners and you'd get a few hundred every friday night just from that crowd.A big part of the problem and why the arena looks so empty is because the arena is huge- Springer had a hope and a dream or something that one day fronts fans would show up.
Yes they do that however when they had a pretty good team in 2021-2022 they weren’t even advertised and the crowds weren’t very good then too.
Imo the biggest problems surrounding the kingston attendance issues is the lack of marketing to go with the high prices and not giving queens/st Lawrence/rmc students tickets. They have 20,000 people that go to queens every year and they don’t give out tickets to them or sell them for half price.
They don’t have any games supporting queens/st Lawrence and rmc. In total with the students there is probably close to 35,000 if I were to ballpark it. Broke students aren’t going to be paying 25 bucks for a fronts ticket when they can go out with their friends and save some money. But if they made it like 10-15 dollars for queens students guarantee they’d get lots more.
Imo student tickets should be like 10-15 dollars-sit them in the crappy sections like 117, 118, 101, elderly (65+) 15-20 dollars and regular adults 20-25 not including the club seats. Oh and children the same price as students.
Also lower the price of food and drinks by a couple of dollars and you’re making way more money. I got a poutine and a water today for over 20 dollars. That’s unacceptable. If they lower the prices on things you’ll get more people that may have interest in coming back and seeing more hockey- generating more money in the long run rather than what some people do and come once a year.
For parents that come there with their kid- the kids always want food and if the parent didn’t eat before the game for instance getting a poutine and a water is 20 bucks. Not to mention they’d get something like popcorn for the kids and maybe a slushie which would be another 10. So that’s roughly 30 dollars on food and that’s only if there’s the 1 kid and 1 parent. So on top of the 25 dollar tickets that equal out to 50 total plus tax for the 2 going you have to fork out 30 bucks on food too. 80 bucks per night for a fronts game doesn’t sound optimal to me.
That’s why nobody goes.
Visiting minor hockey teams discount is a great idea. However, you need to take it a step further. Most minor teams will be outside the city, so the players will have very little impact. However, setting up a meet and greet with some of the stars of the team would generate more enthusiasmI agree with you on the Univ/College thing - they do need to market with some discounted tickets. They should also be giving the hockey teams here on tournaments -which will be nearly every weekend - give the players $5 tickets and adults accompanying them $15 bucks -- put them in the ends or corners and you'd get a few hundred every friday night just from that crowd.
Also- the concessions prices are controlled by ASM global - not the Frontenacs. While they may have some input, and get some $ from the sales, those are set by the management group.
Very happy he got invited. Not surprised obviously. This will help his confidence for sure. Frasca looked like a different player last year after going there.Congrats to Hopkins

Interestingly no mention of an interim/replacement - makes me wonder if they are looking externally?
I'm going to go down to the rink and see about an interview.....but I don't like my chances. I have a 100% know everything record.![]()
