Beast I’m not sure if you watch fronts games but frasca IS a 200 foot player lol. Plays on pk too.

Battaglia no- more of a sniper and needs to work on 200 foot game but still has the second most points for a draft eligible forward out of the ohl (2nd to greentree, 3rd overall including parekh)

Absolutely. He won’t ever be a star piece on this back end for us like burns or schmidt but he is a reliable defensive defenseman with some pretty good speed and throws his weight around. Is definitely a piece they need going forward.
I was thinking more of Battaglia. I am not sure how many people remember Nathan Moon, Anthony Stewart, and Bobby Hughes as perfect examples of what I am talking about. They get drafted and fail to learn what the NHL wants them to do. On the other hand, you had Chris Stewart and Cory Emerton, who were not pure goalscorers who learnt to play 2 ways and, in the case of Emmertaon, are still playing hockey.

Anthony Stewart made the nhl and played for a few years. Don’t even get me started on moon that guy was a loser, same move every time, completely all about himself. I don’t remember Hughes much.

Battaglia is more of a sniper but honestly not just saying this I have noticed his 2 way play improve since Mann came and replaced Caputi, same with Soto- both last year were absolutely horrible for that.

Pretty disappointed with sotos production stats wise but he has been effective on the ice and his compete along with his defence has improved a lot which were the 2 biggest things for him. Next year maybe he focuses on filling the net or distributing to battaglia/frasca(who I think will replace ludwinski on line 1)

Anthony Steward made the NHL as a coffee boy. He was a first-round draft pick who only played for Florida as a call-up. Yes, he played a full year in Atlanta, if you can count that lol. Plus, 77 games with a weak Carolina team. When I look at first-round picks, I expect them to make the NHL team that drafted them. I also have to compare him to another player on the Fronts who had the same style as Chris Stewart. To me, he had the skill, but just like the others on that team, he did not have the work ethic.

sure he didn't live up to the hype obviously but nobody ever thought he would be gretzky. anthony had 59 points over his last 2 nhl seasons, not the best obviously but respectable numbers-then the nhl lockout happened in 2012-2013 and he started playing in the eihl. never made it back after that.

also- whatever players do post kingston isn't on kingston lol. its on the player and team they move on to, to figure it out. not kingstons fault for any failures. if they want to be a pro they have to act like one.

Thank you for making my point. CHL USHL teams are responsible for developing the players AS MUCH AS THEY CAN. However, it is up to the player to listen to what the NHL team drafting them wants them to do and then to commit to it and do their best to improve.

Ottawa has had the same problem They had an awesome line in Bowen (1st) Peca(2nd) and Marshall (1st)
Detroit told Bowen to improve his skating. He didn't)

Every team has had these players. Probably the most famous was not an OHL player but Alice Daigle. Again a one-move player that lit up the CHL in points but had no understanding of defence.

If you look at the teams that the NHL continually drafts from, it is not that the kids are stars but that the kids are NHL-ready and can play 2-way hockey and that the team develops a work ethic and drafts kids that want to give 100%.

That's pathetic - especially considering the fact that there was another suspendable play in the SAME GAME that was announced the next day.

Edit: Plus since he was in Moncton there's a solid chance he wouldn't have played tonight anyways...

Suspension should be longer and should have been enforced immediately. He spit on a Fronts player. Disgusting and says a lot about a person's character.
Forgot to add...

Can you imagine if the situation was reversed and a Front's player had spit on Parekh???? There would be an inquest resulting in a lengthy suspension and subsequent sensitivity training.

And is spitting on a person not considered a gross misconduct?

l hope the young man can learn from his thoughtless acts. The sad thing is he is one hell of an offensive D. I would think if he does it again the punishment will be more severe. Being a Spitit fan l can see how this would be disturbing.

His timing for doing this was dumb. I am sure that the courts and GM all knew about it, and if they had a chance to talk to him, it was on their list of things. It also puts a negative on his scout report.

Also you have to wonder if the fact that he is playing for Sag had anything to do with it.

Glad Frasca had a good night

Frasca showed well, And Parekh should have been suspended for the game for sure. Shows how the league treats its' stars over the regular joes. Horking on another player is brutal, we better do something about it March 8th when we in Saginaw

I think they will. Hopefully doesn’t end in anyone getting hurt but I’d be pretty pissed off if that happened to me. Parekh might want to sit that one out

Big game tonight against Niagara. Definitely a must win. Already a game under 500 with the next couple of games being Brantford who is top of the east division, Oshawa who gave us lots of trouble the last 2 match ups, Peterborough who by all means was no easy game last time they played, and then Oshawa again in Oshawa.

Imo they need to win 4/5 of those games and it’s probably not going to go that way as there’s no ludwinski for the 2 games this weekend, but we should have Schmidt for when we play in Oshawa atleast then things should be back to normal

McGowan is playing tonight. Stopped using the crutches a couple days ago.

Great news! With ludwinski out I wonder if weir will be playing?
Looks like Kyle Downey starting tonight, Cavallin in for Ludwinski, no Weir.

Downey starting finally. Wonder what this means for salajko.

Also cavallin 3C and Hopkins on 4th line as winger.

Dubois subbed in for ludwinski on top line.

Quite interesting to see how these lines play out.

Jj salajkos stats in the 7 games he has played this year

OHL
7
4.79
.832

That is actually some of the worst numbers I can recall someone having in a long time atleast that I can remember. I think Downey will be playing backup to vaccari the rest of the season while jj probably goes down and plays ojhl or some league equivalent to that for the rest of the season. Smart move maybe by the fronts keeping Downey playing games even if he was down a level while getting salajko some minutes at a higher tier of hockey. Next year I expect him to play more and be way better. Also he is still a b card only playing the 7 games so believe he would qualify as a rookie next year still

Kingston may not do anything other than put a little extra emphasis on hits. The last thing you need is for someone to take things into their hands and get suspended.

I am sure that Mann will tell them the best way, to just beat them at home. The Fronts do not have that player that he can send out and know what they can and can not do.

FF I am not going to say I told you so BUT I seem to remember someone last year saying that they were not sure if Salajko was ready for the OHL.
