Kings Win 2-1; SE7EN

What, you don't remember when TB was better than us? They beat us so bad in that 7 game series, no?

I don't remember that either. ;)

TB has the same issue Calgary does, their forwards are going to get absolutely obliterated when the heat gets turned up. They're talented enough to make quick popgun plays and that makes them dangerous, but I still can't get over Kucherov slowly backing out of the play after Regehr blew him up and Gaudreau throwing pucks to everyone in Kings jerseys after narrowly missing his tunnel of death.

I don't care what anyone thinks of us at this point, it's clear this team isn't high-end freewheel talent enough to just burn the regular season, but we are a total pain in the ass to play in a 7 game series because of the weardown and experience. Now that we've had to turn up the heat, you see what that looks like over one game, we've totally 2012'ed everyone on this streak except the Avs and sort of the Sharks, just have to keep it up. Hope they don't sit back knowing we're in a better spot.

Well I went to the event, spent a lot of money this time around. The atmosphere was dead if you ask me. That Etheridge performance was just terrible.

Glad the Kings won, but I will be skipping all future outdoor games from here on out. It was just a colossal waste of cash.

Yup. That's the way I felt after last year. And it wasn't just because the Kings lost, that had very little to do with it.

My seats cost a fortune as I opted for the highest price and they were in the loge and I still couldn't see crap. It was hard do watch what the **** was going down on the ice surface from my angle. It just isn't worth it...and if you ask me, watching it on TV ain't much better. Just seems weird the way the cameras are set up on the TV side of things.

Hey...it's a power play! Now we get to use our airplane camera and, for some reason, slowly zoom out from the ice so you can see what a power play looks like from the moon!

Key to these things is a cheap ticket and tailgating. Dodger Stadium was a PITA to get in and out and there was no tailgating. My sight line was actually pretty good but $180 is going to get me a much better seat at a normal game. The point of these things is the spectacle and atmosphere: I would not go to another one at Dodger Stadium.

Shore has really settled in (I like that I don't hear his name often, because when you hear a rookie's name often it's usually not positive). Couple that with Clifford and Nolan playing incredible, simple hockey, and the bottom-six has been worlds better. Still waiting for #14 to show up though.

Melrose gets a lot of crap, but I've always loved the guy. You can definitely tell he has a huge soft spot for the Kings and loves talking about them so much (because they're winning).

I was also a fan of Melrose. I always felt he was doing a good job coaching the Kings. He liked physical play and had the guys playing that way.

I thought that the dark birds flying across the ice, thereby confusing the viewer in terms of which dark object was the puck, was a nice touch.

You make it sound like Pearson will be back this season.

Isn't he due back in the first round sometime?

Levi's stadium has an app where you can either order food delivered to your seat or pick up your order from an express line without a wait.

Another interesting thing was the warning not to drink the water since it was recycled. That was posted above the urinals.

If the water wasn't recycled though, feel free to take a cup out of the urinal, lol.

This is what I saw too after the two Tampa games. They may have the best sniper in the game as well as other high skilled scorers, but when you start pounding them shift after shift, they no longer head for the high scoring areas. Doughty basically shut down Stamkos in both games, and when he did finally get a shot off, Quick slammed the door on him too.

Finally got back home tonight. What a great time! Levi's was a great venue and Sharks fans were good for the most part. Had a good long talk with some Sharks fans after the game. Good, level headed hockey discussion. Anyway, finally got around to updating this:

So if we win against Detroit we get a bingo?

I was watching the replay and noticed the Kings players circled back onto the ice after the game maybe to shake hands with the Sharks. Probably would have bought the Sharks painful memories.

I used that app. It was great early in the game, but towards the end the wait was 60+ mintues so the app recommended not using it.

The one thing that sucked was when I stood in a long line to get drinks during the 2nd/3rd period break. Right when it's my turn to order, the manager shouts to all the cashiers that beer is done. I tried to plead my case to the cashier but to no avail. I waited in line so long that I watched Gabby score on the tv screens out on the concourse. Didn't even get to see the gwg live.

Not sure what they showed on tv, but it looked like they were ready to line up to shake hands and then it sort of didn't happen so both teams just raised sticks to the fans. I actually prefer it. Regular season game, no need to shake hands, but at the same time it's a fan spectacle, so they acknowledged them.
