Kings Win 2-1; SE7EN

Just got back to the hotel from the game.

Shark fans around us were okay.. Even were doing a 2 finger bite because they said Sharks were minnows on the power play.

Also Melissa Ethridge, was still singing when Kings came out for 3rd.. She was doing her best Janis Joplin imitation, and Doughty was laughing and plugging his ears. I agree, she was not good.

The big plus is the fans could tailgate here.. That was pretty awesome..

HUGE win. Cheers all. :)

Until all 82 games are played the tiebreaker is GP.

I know that! But it's somewhat meaningless. Unless we have a massive hurricane or something. The message is for example, if you have two games in hand and are tied in points with a team, but if they have 3 more ROWs than you, you need to win one point of the two games to actually go ahead if them. The Kings are currently behind the Wild, Sharks and Flames in ROW. They are ahead of the Jets.

East is better than the West and TB is way better than the Kings. The main boards just told me so, lol.

I had to take a look and boy what a trainwreck, I wonder if they even watch hockey, the pacific is the weakest division and the op almost ruins the goodwill that TROLLPOSO has brought to this board

I've got co-workers who are Lightning season ticket holders and they don't even think that. Before the winning streak started, I was in a conference call with a bunch of Lightning fans, 1 Rangers fan and 1 lonely Sharks fan (we've got corporate offices all over the country) and I was lamenting how poorly the Kings were playing and they all gave me crap saying they were playing the world's tiniest violin for me. That it must be nice to have a team that dominated the league the last 3 seasons. It actually put into perspective my displeasure with the Kings play to that point. Now look at our boys, pulling me back in again.

They touched on it a bit in the broadcast, but the Kings fourth line has been huge during this winning streak.

I know some people hate to talk about tangible things like stats, but in the 11 games since the big shake-up on the fourth line the Kings as a team are 8-3 and the fourth line has been on the ice for more goals (4) than against (3) and in the past 10 games the fourth line has been on the ice for only one goal against.

Just for reference in the 11 games previous to the shake-up the Kings were 3-5-3 with the fourth line accounting for 1 GF and 3GA.

Might not seem like a big difference but those extra goals for have come in handy. Props to Nolan and Clifford who have been really solid.

marty biron needs to eat a ****, and it may just be me but it seems like Barry Melrose's voice get higher when he talks about the Kings, I love that he is still partial to the Kings

Shore has really settled in (I like that I don't hear his name often, because when you hear a rookie's name often it's usually not positive). Couple that with Clifford and Nolan playing incredible, simple hockey, and the bottom-six has been worlds better. Still waiting for #14 to show up though.

Melrose gets a lot of crap, but I've always loved the guy. You can definitely tell he has a huge soft spot for the Kings and loves talking about them so much (because they're winning).

The fourth line, especially Clifford, had a great game. And that Regehr hit was awesome, absolutely destroyed Karlsson.

Nolan finally realized he has to play the way he did when he came up or he's done. Its still shocking to see how he has more goals than Kopitar over the last 12 games.

Ya, he was throwing out tons of praise during the 2 postgame segments on the NHL Tonight .

The Kings fourth line reminds me of the 2012 fourth line when it was Richardson-Fraser-Nolan just playing gritty, simple fourth line hockey. They didn't score a ton but they didn't allow many either, and the ones they did score were big goals. The fourth line in 2014 was terrible and it rolled over into this year with all the goals against and lack of physicality a lot of nights. I'm really happy with the way the lines look right now.

Just got back to my hotel and still shaking. pumped. Yeah, Regehr has a habit of making people quit. Rookies like Karlsson, Gaudreau, Kucherov (close enough) just give up after they get demolished. I still have nasty thoughts of having a Byfuglien/Regehr pairing for that reason but even without that's Kings hockey, just make the opponent say uncle after pounding them into submission. Love it.

And as much as i love Pavelski, I can't think of a player in the league who is even more of Quick's *****.

Muzzin Dumpster is 7-0 too.

ROFL that kills me.

Thirteen points behind the ducks with two games in hand. Dream big!

My bold prediction was that we'd steal 1st in the division on the last day of the season. It's not looking as crazy as it was 2 weeks ago

The one time you break, the Kings immediately go on a massive winning streak.

haha no kidding. Kings have eyes on Ron.

Wow, didn't realize so many posters on here went. Love the presence! On TV it looked like quite a bit of Kings fans were in attendance.

But even now with a .586 P% with 2 games in hand we're averaging more than that one point. And in the case of SJ with 3 in hand we're only 1 ROW behind them. Would hope we could win 1 of those 3 and get a ROW. But thanks to all 7 of these games being regulation wins it's really helped out ROW and we're now back to a point it's not as big a concern as it was a few weeks ago. And we're close enough that we can catch or pass those around us if we just keep playing well.

Hmm...deciding if I should ignore the main boards, or drink quite a bit more and engage with them.

Getting in playoff mode already. I want to talk ****. Must hold back. Cannot sustain.*

*Me, not the Kings. Our boys can do anything.

I said my piece and left. It was like a den of honey badgers. It's a bizarro world thread where regular seasons wins matter if the East are the victors and they also don't matter when the Kings win, lol.
