Nic D and the 2nd's aside, imo trading Husdon is the "so much"
the kid had a tremendous Frosh season and WJC. if he continues to build on what he did last season the kid is shaping up to be a top 6, perhaps top 3 in BUF. honestly i think the kid looks very special to me.
he has that rare combo of size, hands/skill, good to very good speed and will play physically. he has virtually every tool in the box and doesn't appear to be a one or two trick pony. he showed that he can beat a defender multiple ways.
think of what DD and Kopi bring to the ice, each guy can play different styles and beat the competition. Fasching is the same type of player, but only on the college and WJC so far. he still has a ways to go, but as a true freshman last season he was destroying kids that were 2-3 years older than him.
It certainly looks like Fasching will be an NHLer in the next few years, but it will be awhile before we truly see the extent of his upside.
I think DL made a smart move in exchanging assets. He knew the writing was on the wall with Mitchell leaving and that we had many players at forward that weren't going to make the big club. He traded away a strength for a weakness. Did pretty much the same thing with Vey going to Vancouver, but McKeown will be at least a couple years away from possibly making the team. I think it's a tradeoff they could live with as he has a lot of upside.
The only concern I have with McNabb is his hockey IQ. I need to see him play a bit more before I can get a strong feeling for that. I will say this- if he can play a Pronger style game, it will help the Kings tremendously. The kid can lay some big hits and really make space out there for the other players. Like DL said, he'd rather tame a lion than paint stripes on a kitty cat. I like his chances.
