Just throwing out some context which I think is important. San Jose is icing a lot of their veterans. Which I don't even blame them for. They've had much more turnover compared to the Kings, and they only play 5 season games (condensed schedule for the first four then playing a preseason game overseas).

It's not a criticism of the Sharks, but between this as well as the very young roster the Kings are icing, hopefully no actual conclusions are being drawn here.

Lizotte equalizes, from Grundström, with 2:35 left to play:

Also on the ice for the Kings goal: Lemieux, Roy, Björnfot & Vilalta.

Overtime starting, with Sharks for almost 2 full minutes on a 4-on-3 powerplay (Clarke in the box).

I guess it's not surprising that Lemieux - Lizotte - Grundstrom was our best line given they looked great together last year, and San Jose sent out a veteran-laden lineup. That being said, it would've been nice for any of the kids to stand out a bit more. It sounds like those three plus Quick came to play and everyone else just survived.

Oh well. It's preseason. We could've won 6-0 and it would've meant just as little.

Couture, from Karlsson & Labanc, wins it with 1:27 left in overtime:

On the ice for the Kings: Lizotte, Lemieux, Clarke & Vilalta.

Kings outshoot the Sharks 45-31, but lose the game.

Excited to see where the vets are at. Can’t wait to see the young guys get their feet under them. Hopefully everything trends in the right direction to start the season. Sounds like our Powerplay is still very predictable.

Season is done my friend

Some of y’all need to relax, the skater with the most career goals for LA in today’s preseason game was Brendan Lemieux, with 31. Grundstrom, Lizotte, and Kaliyev are the only other guys on the entire Kings roster with more than NHL 10 goals.

Why don’t we reserve power plau judgement for when, I don’t know, guys other than our literal fourth line are on the ice.

I think many of the folks here are being tongue and cheek with the sarcasm. I’d like to think we put little weight in the outcome of this game.
