If Arvidson and Durzi start the season on the starting lineup we are gonna see a trade in the first 2 months of the season. Blake will move guys down based on waiver eligibility.

A RD, a former 1st rounder, and probably prospect RD are moving. Some team will have injured dmen coming out of camp and will be looking to fill holes.

Agree, I also think some high profile players will be on waivers on the last day.

There's gonna be a bunch of posters here who will piss their pants with anger if Clarke gets sent back, but they're ignoring the fact that he may not be physically ready for the NHL. He's listed at 6"2, but only 185 lbs., so he's not exactly a tank out there. Is he ready for the type of contact and physicality of the NHL? I guess that's what the 9 games are for.

One thing he has going for him is his ability to escape contact with deception. Very little panic, like Doughty, and can get checkers to miss regularly.

Quinn Hughes, while a few years older is listed at 5-10, 180. The guy looks barely 170 soaking wet. Same with his younger brother. He had no problem with the physicality of the nhl. Clarke should'nt have any problems either if that guy can do it.

I'm actually really happy with how this team is stacked up right now.

Our obvious hole is in net and then we never really addressed the lack of size and toughness on the back-end.
If quick plays like he did last year it’s not much of a hole.

I’ll agree on up front though. As long as guys do what. They are supposed to do we should be a much better team. If arty pots 30 that’s gonna be a big contract to pay though lol

Trades like that used to happen, but it's all died down in the cap era. If you get an injury, unless it's season ending, you generally stick with what you've got. You just plug in the next guy on your depth chart, because if a guy is out a month, and you trade for an actual player, in a month, you now have to deal with the roster/cap problem.

The deadline, and draft. That's when real trades get made. Eichel and Tkachuk were at odd times, but that's also not simply filling a hole.

I might be in the minority but the reason I am cool with moving Walker is because I think he’s pretty much near his ceiling while other players are near his level with much higher ceilings

Pretty good article posted at the Athletic on Walker and his rehab experience over the past year. Interesting quotes from TM...they seem very high on him, not likely the candidate they are moving to make room for Clarke.
If he can play LD successfully he becomes a pretty valuable piece for our team given his cap hit. Time will tell. Every spotlight on Walker talks about how he used to be a more physical player in college but had to tone it down in order to minimize injuries and tighten up his defensive coverage. He's not big for the NHL, but if he could slot in at LD AND start bringing more physicality, that would be outstanding.

Here's your lineup tonight; just saw it on Twitter.

Moore – Danault – Vilardi

Thanks for posting. Looks like Byfield is still day-to-day with an illness. Our prospects have inherited the health of the early 00s Kings teams. Andersson and JAD will be battling to see who gets waived and who doesn't, and I'm pulling for another great game from Vilardi. He's basically locked down the first extra forward spot.

It hope that he scores 135 goals tonight, just to stick it to the man

Is Byfield sick or does it have to do with the hit he took that game?
