The Kings traded a guy with bad underlying numbers (Cammy) for a playmaking guy with good underlying numbers (Jussi).

Jokinen can win faceoffs to boot, which is a real need on this team with Carter out. And he can kill penalties.

Iafallo had taken Cammalleri's spot in the top 6. They seem to feel he was miscast in his bottom 6 role.

Jokinen's bad shooting luck through 14 games this year makes him seem worse than he is. Cammy may wind up with more points by the end of the year, but I'm guessing they preferred a more well-rounded player.

i thought it was pretty obvious the coach didn't like Cammalleri

some nights he played 9-10mins, some nights he's benched

and other than that 4pts explosion vs Montreal... how many pts does he really have?

have you guys been paying attention?

It wasn't that he didn't like him it was that AI clicked with Brown and Kopi.

and yet he couldn't find a spot on the roster
and on most nights he was totally invisible

btw before your mind gets blown away, i'll give you a heads up... Stevens ain't too fond of Dowd either

at least Jokinen can win a few faceoffs which will be handy before Carter comes back around February

what worries me though, is that Andreoff is our new Dwight King

Eh. Whatever. A somewhat scoring bottom 6 player that can’t defend for a non scoring bottom 6 player that can defend. If Jokinen can prevent as many goals as Cammy was going to score, it’s a wash.

I’m guessing Cammy wasn’t thrilled with his role. So long again Cammy.

Makes more sense to have Jokinen in the bottom 6.

AI Kopi Brown
Pearson Carter Toffoli
Jokinen Kempe Gaborik
Clifford Shore Lewis

Where was he supposed to play him? Cammy either needs to be in the top six or he's pretty useless. Should Steven have sat or moved Iafallo or Kempe on the second line? Probably not.

This smells like Paul Fenton for Gilles Hamel. LoL, 29 years later, that trade STILL stinks!!!!

Bad trade, this team needs depth not washed up players with 1 point this season and many say is washed up.

How many points does washed up Jokinen have lol.Let me give you a hint, less.Hearing when Carter comes back Kings will be over the player limit, and Jokinen will probably be a waver wire victim.

Better situation for both guys, that's about it. Sort of like...what was it, Scuderi for Ehrhoff? Disregard that Sutter went full idiot and played Scuderi 27 min a game after that, you get my point

We needed bottom six help and Cammy wasn't gonna top-six it up with the way things are now. Gaborik coming back soonish makes him totally redundant. Jokinen might not even stick but that's no different than Cammalleri really, and if he does, it's because he did well enough. I'm sure Cammy will get the same 'new role' look in EDM too. Oilers are having no issues with possession and Cammy can finish, Kings are having lots of issues with defense/possession on their side of the red line and Jokinen can theoretically help with that (playing too many kids/rookies on D and bottom six due to injuries).

But I also agree it's Blake doing Cammy a solid and letting him play where he can help too.

It's probably a pretty nothing trade in the grand scheme of things. At least, I didn't expect three pages of WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?! about it.
