oiler fan I come in peace(as much as any opposition fan can)

I understand the deal from the oilers perspective--but not LAK

JJ can play all 3 fwd positions---but other than that cam looked to be productive with the Kings--JJ not so much with the Oilers

not here to cause trouble--just can not understand the deal from the LAK point of view

We don’t get it either.

theyre on nearly identical contracts, both shoot left, etc. only difference is Jussi a bit younger and has maybe played more center? Idk

Cammalleri was horrible in his own end, something that made our 3rd/4th line a liability every time they were on the ice. Jokinen is a strong 2 way forward.

What is JJs cap hit? Is it less? Are we trying to make a deal where a few dollars count?

I’m just not sure I understand the deal unless Gabby is ready AND a pick is also coming our way. Yes it’s wishful thinking.

I agree JJ performs a different role but does he offer more than Laich for example? Genuine question. If so, maybe I see the point.

Jokinen is getting paid 1.1M for this one season then his contract is up.

I don't think he provides more than Laich. They are about the same player at this stage in their careers.

My guess is Jokinen will be on waivers once Gaborik is back. Blake just didn't want to waive his friend Cammy for the roster spot, and allowed him to go to a competitive team rather than a basement dweller. Someone would have given us a pick for him, and we have no use for Jokinen, so I'm lead to believe this is a gesture from Blake.

I'm disappointed, I liked the feel good story of Cammy's return, and he wasn't playing poorly.

Maybe we wanted a agitator?

That's not Jokinen.

From what I've seen out of Jokinen this year is that he's fairly cerebral but slower than slow and didn't seem all that engaged in any of the Oilers games. He looked completely done as an NHLer here. As vanilla as it gets.

But it's possible that there was just a disconnect between him and the Oilers organization and that a different organization can get more out of him. Wouldn't rule the possibility out at all.

While this trade did suck. Cammalleri wasn't anything special. He's been pretty bad except for a couple games. They both suck. Lateral move.
I'm not gonna comment and say anyone sucks until I've seen them play. Cammalleri was mediocre in his time here.

Won't be hard for Jokinen to match or do better than what Cammy did in his time here.

I'm confused about this deal. The only this I can guess is Cammalleri wanted more playing time/bigger role and requested it so Blake traded him as a favor.

But that is a guess.

i mean cammalleri was a real shot in the dark so i don't feel too hurt about it but i sure as shit don't understand why you would initiate it
