Kings were already cursed with two terrible contracts in Brown and Gaborik but now Kopitar.

And what a greedy pos to demand 10 million knowing that would cost the Kings Lucic and cap flexibility. He really couldn't take 8 or 9?

That greedy POS gave you two cups.

if Kopitar is hurt, then put him on IR and get his wrist operated on now vs April so we don't screw next year too.

A 1 armed center is not an asset.

And like it or not a guy making 14 Million this year is expected to produce, people cut Kopitar slack because he is who he is. But his numbers and performance are just awful and the return on that 14 million has got to be the worst in the NHL.

Kopitar is having an Enron kind of year.

I didnt realize how many fairweather fans we have up in here, its really sad. how many of you guys gave up when the Kings were down 0-3 to the Sharks? how about in February of 2012 when everyone was saying the Kings were done?

Always laughable when people criticize a guy for getting his fair market value on a contract.

Criticize his play this season but stop with the "greedy" commentary.

Completely agree. I don't care if its the 50th anniversary, shut him down and get healthy. And tell Quick he's not coming back this season either. And let Zatkoff know hes starting the rest of the season.

Reminder that Nolan Patrick is Right Handed. Could play Wing with Kopitar.

I don't mind if the tank is real :help:

Eh, I wouldn't throw that word around if people are still here and posting about the team, shows how much they care.

Now seeing masses of empty seats at Staples Center after their struggles will show the true colors of those johnny come lately fair weather fans.

The Kings have also priced themselves out with their stupid price hikes. I only attend if I find a good deal on StubHub, and I'm not compelled to shell out money for overpriced tickets to watch such a crappy and boring brand of hockey. I'd rather do that from my living room where I can comfortably fall asleep to Kings hockey.

Great deals abound on StubHub this season for pretty much every game. Still not worth it hahaha.

Even the All Star Game market has been a joke. Had to go Craigslist route just to get my money back.

The bandwagon already had a lot of people jump off after last year's playoffs. It's been reflected in the resale market since Game 1.

I gave up at 3 - 0 to the chokers

I didn't mind spending a little bit more to watch playoff hockey. I had no regrets spending over $200 to see Game 6 against the Sharks and the Ducks in 2014.

I'd never spend that kind of money for regular season, plus with this decrepit roster and the style they're playing, it becomes more of a chore than enjoyment, and I don't want to punish my wallet to witness it live.

Ah...was talking more about 300 level seats that you can get for below STH prices day of the game even with the fees.

I like to scour stubhub for deals on lower level seats. Used to be easy to find PR tix at $50 or less.

After so many years of being a STH near section 304, I couldn't stand sitting up there. My ears couldn't handle anymore of hearing the shrieking voice of fans yelling "shoot the puck Corvooooo!"

maybe it isnt the right word but I feel the sentiment is the same? fairweather fans are prone to disappear when the going gets rough. what Im talking about isnt necessarily a disappearance but almost an eagerness to turn on the team while still following them. is there a better word for that? lack of resilience ?

Come on now. We're fans. We only watch and hope. It's okay to give up. Coming back from an 0-3 deficit is once in a blue moon. The coaches and the players are the ones that are obligated to not give up.

I'm ashamed to say the last sentence cracked me up.

Maybe this is a really dumb question, but why would Sutter start Zatkoff against the 2nd best offensive team in the league as opposed to NJ who is one of the worst?

that's actually a smart Sutter coming to terms with the reality that he has a terrible roster at hands

basically you have a back to back if you put Zatkoff vs NJ you lose that game, and you risk losing the Rangers game

at least this way, by putting Budaj vs NJ you have a chance at winning a game out of the two

Too many years of suckage and now that we've tasted success I don't want to go through the suckage stage again unless it's a rebuild.

I'm sorry if calling out these guys who are making millions that are under performing upsets you. It's a business and most of us would be fired if we under performed at our job too.

I became a fan in 1988.

Longer than some, not as long as many.

I am thankful to have seen the Golden years of this team.

They just aren't that Stanley Cup caliber throughout the lineup anymore. Even with the trifecta of Kopitar, Doughty, and Quick. (+Carter)

This team isn't that team anymore. This team is now the one that missed the playoffs/won a game the next year (After falling off a cliff in the last month)/and will likely miss the playoffs again baring a Columbus like run.

Kopi's year has been horrific. I hope it is injury related, new baby even. Some hope that this is an anomaly. Next year hinges on it.

I still like Brown and Gabby but they both look done as top flight players and will negate so much cap space going forward.

The youth movement is pretty meh. Not much to be thrilled about there.

Expansion sucks. (Goodbye Forbort or Dowd-nice knowing yah)

How many times can Quick be put back together?

I have loved Sutter and I think he does what he can with what he is given. Maybe coaches do have a shelf life tho.

Fact is, this team is turning into have beens. DL is going to have to make some sharp moves, like razors edge, to retool in time for the trifecta + Carter to have another kick at the can.

I watched some pretty disparaging hockey immediately after the Gretzky era. Saw the Palffy era come and go. Saw this cup team come together and go through pangs as a young group before becoming winners.

I accept them for what they are now and am still grateful. Hoping they can pull off what Pittsburgh did after some bad years after Sid and company's first cup.

Thinking that some kind of shake up is in order.

At this point the Kings would be foolish to not protect Forbort at this point. Leave McNabb exposed

And calling Kopitar a greedy pos for wanting a market value contract is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever read on here
