St. Cloud out, #1 overall seed loses to Air Force in NCAA's.

I wonder if Eyssimont is considering leaving, there are pros and cons.

I expect the Kings will go hard for Eyssimont to get him to skip his senior year. Not sure if he would want to leave now though, since school doesn't end for about six weeks. Seems a shame to waste the whole semester even if he wants to turn pro and finish school at a later date (ala Martinez).

Paid the stupidly expensive price for OHL Live's round 1 playoff package to watch Kingston and Vilardi. It was only one game, but Kingston just doesn't impress me as a team. The defense seems a little shoddy (which matches up with what appears in the game recaps the league posts), and the team appears to be very top heavy with the Vilardi line and Robertson line.

Vilardi looked ok yesterday. He got a secondary assist on a play where he protected the puck well as he inched out toward the top of the right circle then reversed it down low to Nyman, who fed a cross-ice pass to Rasanen for the goal.

One thing you can't teach is hockey sense and on-ice awareness, both of which Vilardi has in spades.

3/23 recap:

Kingston lost 5-2, Vilardi had an Assist.
SSM won 5-2, Villalta stopped 19/21 in getting the W.
Sarnia lost 6-2, Rymsha had a Goal and an Assist.
Moose Jaw lost 5-3, Clague had a Goal and -2.
Seattle lost 4-1, Strand had an Assist and +1.

3/24 games:

Windsor @ Sarnia (Rymsha)
London @ Owen Sound (Phillips)
Spokane (JAD) @ Portland (Kehler)
Prince Albert @ Moose Jaw (Clague)
Seattle (Strand) @ Everett

I really appreciate you doing his everyday, just curious why you don't list Friend on Owen Sound or Reddekopp on Victoria.

I don't bother with Friend because he's probably not getting a deal having a subpar year as an OA, even if you're a SAH defenseman prospect you need to generate more offense then he has. Reddekopp was just an oversight, I know he is older, but he already has a deal.

Matthew Villalta and the Greayhounds are taking on the Saginaw Spirit on NHL network if anyone is interested.

EDIT: well apparently this is a replay and the Greayhounds kicked their ass 8-0. Villalta only had to face 21 shots.

That goal where Vilardi just redirects the puck with his skate so he can backhand it shows the presence of mind and ability to think the game at an elite level that makes his "skating deficiency" so easy to overlook.

Seriously, Vilardi must have played soccer. His uncle is former Lazio Roma player Sebastiano Sivigilia.

Ridiculous how often Vilardi moves the puck with his skates. Though, be careful.....see Eric Lindros.
