Kings play whole game short 7 on 5; win 1-0

I wish there was some symbol, like an animal, associated with the number 8... Something that's also symbolic of beating Detroit for that 8th game in a row... If onlyI could think of such an animal...

I had something but lost it. I keep seeing black for some reason. I hate it when that happens. It really stINKS.

Babcock had no reason to melt down, I swear there was steam coming out of his ears. Its a shame the FSW ticker covered up the clear reply.

I can understand the melt down.... his team just got shutout with a Muzzin/Greene pairing and the McTwins trolling him by seeing who could pass to the Redwings more....

Once again the refs gave the Kings and their boring style of play a win. It just shows Bettman would rather have a large market team like the Kings win over an Original 6 team. That is why the Kings got so many more power plays than the Wings. Also explain why they put Doughty in the box at the end, can't let him get hurt.

Great game. Hopefully we can convert more next game, but solid effort outside of being in the box the whole game.

The Kings play a hideous-to-watch brand of tackle hockey, wrestling on ice, really, but the standards of officiating are what they are, the Kings succeed doing what they do, and the Red Wings either weren't ready for it or they weren't able to compete against it with their current personnel. The only "win" was keeping this a 1-0 Kings victory instead of a 2-0 or 3-0 affair, and that fell on Jonas Gustavsson's shoulders.

Dear Wings Lackey....it's called a forecheck. Your team might do well to try it sometime. Also, at the end of the game the team with the most goals tends to win. Not the team that gets away with the most penalties or the team that complains the loudest abt penalties referees have the utter audacity to call against them.

Look it up..I'm pretty sure I'm right about that.

Reading GDT of the opposition is funny because it's always the same ****. the best post in the wings pgt is the guy saying the kings couldn't sustain this type of play in a 7 game series. That's followed by a guy asking if he's been watching the playoffs the past three years. Then the talk of missed opportunities. I didn't watch most of the game but I did see two squandered two on one's for the kings. The bottom line is when the kings play their game, they don't need that extra goal. Glad Detroit has gotten the west coast treatment so far. Sharks will probably win their game against them just because they're due but I won't be sad if they won't. I love the rationalizing that comes into play after a loss like that. It's like the 5 stages of a loss to the kings by Elizabeth Kubler-Ross.

And to the idiot saying that kings fans will find another ship to sail when they are no longer a contender, come to staples when the wings play and tell me who the band wagoners are.

I can't even find a rebuttal GIF for this **** right here.

Even with the limited scoring chances in the game, I thought it was reasonably entertaining. There was quite a few long sequences with out stoppages.

I wish Kopitar had some confidence or swagger when he's got the puck on his stick and some space to work with. So damn frustrating to watch.

I love when people complain about boring hockey. Every single team in the league plays EXACTLY the same way when up a goal.

Clog the neutral zone, four across the blue-line/red line one fore-checker.

There is literally no exceptions, EVERY SINGLE NHL team plays that way up a goal.

Except some teams are more effective than others. The kings have been up and down all year no doubt but everyone who watches the kings knows when they are on. And when they are on they could score half a goal and win. They could be down a goal and will play like they are still going to win. I'm sure wings fans could relate to this with all the good teams they've had over the years but they still go through the 5 stages of kings of a loss. Denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance.

This is what I wanted to post in response to the guy that said it must be boring for us to watch the Kings not try to get an insurance goal:

Jonathan Quick IS our insurance goal.

Wings fans aren't used to seeing physical hockey seeing how they've gotten used to watching a passive, soft hockey team that shrivels up when matched up against a physical opponent. This isn't the 97, 98, 02, or 08 Wings teams of yesteryear, and their fans realize that and are clearly frustrated by the fact that their team will more than likely be bounced out of the first or second round. Something they've been used to seeing over the past five years.
