Because teams that are rebuilding/retooling just want the draft pick, they don't care about the return on veteran players.

Not good value for the Kings and not the right targets for the Oilers. They need a good 3C more than anything. And if they do invest in a new goalie it has to be a really good one. They're not short on .900 type goalies.

This is garbage For LA. They easily decline. Oil needs to add a very good prospect to this. Or both of Savoie and Lavoie.

It’s that poor. And hard to fix because it’s so heavily skewed towards Edmonton. Adding two B+ prospects might make it worth LAs time to consider.

There is a problem with your general observation.
Currently Quick is best goalie on the team by wide margin and Kings are trying to get into playoffs.
If Petersen was playing better it will be totally different case…

LA is past that point of their rebuild where they NEED 1st round picks. Their prospect pool is the deepest in the league, and they have talent currently on the team.

For someone who's very experienced in failed rebuilds Soundwave comes off pretty tone deaf here. Just like when the oil were rebuilding for years and years it wasn't in their best interest to take in trash nor is it in the Kings best interest. Garbage proposal and expect Soundwave to be better.

Quick has been better than Koskinen this year, but he has an extra year on his contract and is 35 years old. Not exactly the long term solution in goal the Oilers should be looking for.
