Wives and kids are nice at first, but they'll get boring fast, and that's when our heroes will re-discover their passion for the office. Its for the best, really.

Just gotta wait until the Carters" honeymoon phase is over and the Kopitars' "little ones" making is accomplished.

Oh, Gaborik is injured again? It's going to be long six years, that's for sure. I'm just wondering when we'll start to hate that contract :naughty:

Lucky my ass, he was in the right place forcing the issue and did well to get a stick on it. Perhaps if our boys drove the net a little harder it would have been a better game instead of the hawks schooling us.

Had to quote this for truth. Unfortunately, most nights the Hawks are the better team.

My cats bury better performances in their litter box...

Ouch.

Carcillo has 3 minor penalties all season, and drawn about 10.

Good for Carcillo for reining it in and drawing more penalties. Helps his team. We praise Brown for the same thing.

Ugh. There's nothing more satisfying than beating the Hawks. And nothing more frustrating than them having us for lunch.

Hawks fans are as surprised as anyone with Carcillo's resurgence. Everyone expected to see the same out of control player who has bounced from team to team for the past few years. I think he realized that this was his last chance. This plus he just became a father for the first time may have matured him. Pleasantly surprised as his performance so far.

I'm actually ok with Gaborik missing some games during the regular season. I thought a lot of us were? It'd be great if he could play a full season but I never expected him to. If he can play half the games in the regular season but stay healthy for the entirety of the playoffs and play well there, then that's all we need.

He has really turned the page. He needs to work on his moustache next

Cool, he's also one crosscheck in the back or punch after the whistle from a 20 game suspension. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Carcillo, but the guy is ready to snap at any moment. It's amazing to me that someone with so many screws loose can make it this far in life, yet there he is, teetering on the brink of oblivion.

Visiting Chicago fans at Staples once again cementing themselves as the most obnoxious and vulgar fan base that we get to "enjoy" at Staples.

Real classy stuff, per usual.

I'd easily trade half of the games I've gone to since having season seats since 2001 just to have been at the UC for Game 7 of the WCFs last year. The Red Wings bandwagoners were annoying because they were clearly bandwagon plus the Kings sucked during that time so there was a certain smugness about them that was infuriating; however, they weren't generally a collection of trashy mouth breathers and neck beards.

Feel bad for the dude who dropped $180 for my two extra seats only to leave before the 3rd period because the vile, fat slob woman behind us wouldn't stop screaming and cursing the entire game. Made me long for the sweet fat slob from last year who responded to the "Hawks fan-You suck" chant by screaming "Yeah...my husbands (word for rooster)" for the entire section to hear. That woman was a saint compared to this beast.

I also learned that a sufficient comeback to a Kings fan after said fan mentions how the Kings won the Cup last season by going through the Hawks is "We won two out of the last four". After responding that the Kings have won two out of the last three which, mathematically, is better than two in four, I learned that "We beat you two years ago though" which ran contrary to the opinion I heard all night that "This is now and last season doesn't matter".

As usual, logic was not on hand for a game against Chicago at Staples. Strange that this hasn't been a problem at Chicago games during my 13 seasons of going to every home game until the past four seasons.

Just watched the replay. Oops.

This team alternates between looking impossible to beat and looking completely out of gas. It reminds me of thT awful start the Bruins had a few years back. The team had the same composition, they were just destroyed from so much hockey. That's how this team looks many nights now, a step behind and going thru the motions to where they can barely get to the red line and dump it in. ESPECIALLY kopitar.

Might be a good time to start resting guys every chance we get. It's impressive that we are still even challenging for a playoff spot missing 2/3 of a top line, our entire second pairing, and a bunch of other parts including playing with less than a full roster some nights. Ive been standing up for DL more than most with the cap/Voynov, but currently this team is experiencing bad play AND bad roster management--though hard to do anything with the uncertainty of Voynov. Glad that's coming up in a week.

Man Kopitar looks awful. I wonder if he's still gasses from the cup run? Sure looks like it...

11th on the team in shots, and 10th on the team in shots per game. Not a full season yet obviously, but he's always been in the top 5 on the team in both, usually top 3, and sometimes 1st. Always leading the team in scoring too. 7th so far, and averaging under .5 points per game.

With the Kings, you really do have to read the whole book to the end though. They're the tortoise.

I certainly don't miss going to games and dealing with **** like this.

Rest? What's that? Injuries are when you get to rest! Forgot about getting some rest might help prevent injuries. Are the Kings going ride guys like Greene and Regher until they drop? Is a young Drew going to keep playing monster minutes. Are we going to have Muzzin try to keep pace with him? Are we never going to give AHL players a look like other teams? Or, is McBain and McNabb always going to play? A lot of other NHL teams have 7 d on the roster. Many will have the proverbial veteran each night as healthy scratch! Then, the other six play. Then, when an injury happens, they have flexibility because they have guys that are healthy scratches that can clear waivers and they send them back down. And, they have cap space to move guys around. The Kings have no flexibility. Can't send down Mcnabb, can't send down McBain, can't send down Andreoff! Meanwhile, budding stars are not going to get called up to play a few games! Nic Shore belongs on the Kings, maybe not every game, but he should be going up and down right now like Etem and SmithPelley have been doing for the Ducks! How long will the air stay in the Kings balloon? It'll help to get Martinez back, sure, but then the next little injury will come along, and the Kings still won't have any flexibility. And, things won't get any easier for this team if no one gets any rest. It'll only get worse, and meanwhile the points might start slipping away! There's nothing impressive about the Kings game so far this year other than its amazing they have as many points as they do. A lot of it is called Jonathan Quick, and even he right now is starting to look like he could use some rest. Or, do,we just wait for his injury?

i agree... and personally, i wish they'd have kept Carcillo.

It's Chicago sports culture in general. Everyone is a big happy family with the jerseys and everything else when whoever is winning. The Hawks/Bulls/Sox are the best team in the world, etc, and all of a sudden everyone has a friend or uncle or fourth cousin who lives there still.

At least the LA bandwagon just empties when they stop winning. Chicago sports fan travel from sport to sport, fans of all, masters of none.

2 cups in 3 years and you are questioning why the kings don't manage their cap like the ducks? Give me a freakin break. Voynov screwed the cap, end of story.
