Watching the game up in the nosebleeds today. I was saying to my friends this is exactly like a typical Kings game. Lots of cycle time, outshoot your opponent, and still lose the period.

This shows you the difference between a team with skill and the Kings.

The Capitals are a good measuring stick for the Kings after we're riding a feel-good 5-game winning streak.

The Kings are a skilled team.

Er, I dunno, looked like an evenly played period to me, the difference was two atypical brain farts by the Kings.

This is also nice:

Toffoli has missed more games than all the Caps combined, never mind the rest of our team.

Always blows my mind when people pretend anyone in the NHL is untouchable by the Kings. Caps are deep, the best team in the league, and there are only a couple punching in their goal differential weight class this year, but if anything, we showed that an injured Kings team playing almost 12 hours before a normal PST start time cross-country on a back-to-back belongs on the same ice with few issues.

Gravel hurt and nobody recognizes it. Brown with a bad pass handcuffing McNabb too far forward. No defence men back on the play. Boom.

PHP:
Gaborik is past his prime and I can't consider Toffoli skilled. Good scorer but doesn't necessarily make him skilled.

Every good player in the NHL is a skill player.

The whole concept of a "skill player" is kind of a myth.

One of those days, obviously aren't gonna get a bounce. Doughty eats a stick right in front of the ref and doesn't get the obvious 4, but Ovy gets a phantom hook on a stick check and the refs arm goes up before contact is even made. They had the result in their heads already today.
