Depth, and resting guys over the season is important.

And MT surely wants Gilbert to recreate a play of his against the Kings last year :sarcasm:

I thought about this too haha. Wouldn't shock me with Therrien. Galchenyuk going on a goal tear a couple weeks ago= hmmm not enough proof he can handle being our #1C even for a few games in the widsom of MT. Gilbert scores a rare goal and it's actually a nice one that came vs LA= Gilbert is a beast vs the Kings and deserves top ice time tonight. Just like DD once had good chemistry with Max on the Habs top line in 2011-12= Put them together to create offence cause we can't score. He'll just use whatever "evidence" he can find- however minor it is- to justify his stupid preferences.

How do bad team have such decent puck movement on the PP while the Habs with much more talent struggle to make passes from forward to forward without having to force a pass to point.

That's hilarious. The Kings got seven shots on net, and seven scoring chances, so essentially every shot was a scoring chance.

This has been the issue of late in my mind. Price made it look better than it was. We get lots of shots (like 30-40 a game lately), at best a third of them may be real scoring chances. The other team gets 20-25 but half of them are real scoring chances. Proof that some metrics don't tell the whole story. It sucks cause this is the kind of game where we pour it on but can't score then they'll get one and the team sags.

The Habs have been lacking serious finish for how many years now? I'm starting to wonder if they ever plan on addressing this issue.

The analytics crowd is happy though.
