Kings claim Brendan Leipsic on waivers from Vancouver

One of the reasons people were so upset about Zykov is that it would've allowed them to send some of these prospects back down to Ontario to get more time. Now with 2 waiver pickups, it's time to trade someone, so that the guys that need more time in Ontario can...play with the Kings?

I would be ok with Clifford and Thompson on line 4 and getting 7 minutes...when Kyle Clifford is line 2 and Thompson is PP 2 unit (with 1 goal in like 50 games now)
it is insanity to the 5th power...and maddening.

Honestly we're about the only team that doesn't do that, haha, and it's part of one reason Kings' players get underrated around here, especially during trophy seasons. During the most hotly-contested norris race, EK fans were pumping out videos literally every game night, and last year Hall and Mackinnon were getting showered with the same while Kopitar only showed up when talking about 'top 3.'

I’m ok with Clifford being an everyday player and getting bumped up to the second line when the Kings are losing on the ice. Beyond that is just Willie being Willie.

Thompson at best should be cycled in and out of the lineup as a guy who gets 8 minutes a game. His current deployment as the pitiful conscience of the roster is bush league tactics by Groundskeeper Willie.

The only way to start to salvage this franchise is busting up the prima Donna attitudes and giving kids more minutes than over paid, under performing vets.

3rd round Preds in 2012. Had massive numbers with the Portland Winter Hawks...in playoffs too.
If he cannot play in Vancouver, how can he play here? And Scherbak? And when Lewis, Hagelin ,Brodzinski and Kovy (or not) come back?

Interesting to see he outscored both Kapanen and Johnsson on the Marlies 2 seasons ago.

leipsic was better than many of our players, he wasnt the one who should have been waived.

he was better than Gaudette and Schaller at least

Sorry bud, but that's just nonsense tripe because your favorite team isn't winning....

I bolded the parts that are just...nonsense, Thompson busts his ass out there every shift, game in, game out, he's not going to pot you 20 goals, etc,

Rempal, Wagner, Amadio, Luff even, they have to earn their minutes, you want to create prima donna attitudes, give those kids 15-16 minutes a game, you think the team is a train wreck now?

It's amazing how people want the ice time doled out, it's not about how much ice time you have, it's about what you do with what you get and right now, Rempal, Amadio, Wagner, and Luff, aren't doing much with what they are getting, they need to consistently be doing something out there other than eating minutes, once that happens, then you can talk about upping their minutes, and I'm not saying they have to score every shift or even create chances, though that is part of it, but quit doing the fly bys, finish the checks, stops, starts, all the little things, that they are overlooking, stop overlooking them, and then their minutes will go up...
 
I am cool with Thompson and Clifford getting high ice time. The reason we fell off the cliff this season (other than lack of depth talent) is that players were not playing desperate and with emotion. Thompson and Clifford put the effort in each night, even though they may be talentless. WD should reward players like that to set an example.

That said, in the cap era you can't have players like Thompson, Clifford, Lewis making over a million dollars. I would love to unload them at the trade deadline if possible to clear up cap space.

You do realize Clifford has one less goal than Carter, Kovalchuk, Toffoli, and Iafallo with significant less ice time.

Stop spewing out nonsense. Clifford 100% deserves to be in the line-up.

So basically, Leipsic is a better skating, more complete, fiesty, Tyler Toffoli, that makes 4.150 million less a year?

If Toffoli was waived right now, no one would pick up his 4.6 million cap hit. No team could afford it cap wise or would
want a player that is no better than Leipsic. Who would pick him up and pay his 4.6 million cap hit? Truly. The Kings will have to trade him and
take back equal salary or retain some.

This is definitely not true. He is having an off year, but if Toffoli consistently scores 20+ goals a year. He still has good trade value. Toffoli should return a 1st rounder, 2nd round, and really good prospect in my opinion. Just look at what Tatar got last year at the deadline.

PIMs do not matter if other players say he is a bugger to play against. I wonder how many penalties drawn he has.

And ya TT would be scooped in an instant. The points are not there but he has looked good lately. Generating chances they just are not going in.
