Habs pass. Carter is going to start being outproduced by Gallagher as soon as next season(while Gallagher already destroys Carter in everything not-scoring related) and Sergachev-Kempe isn't even close to equal value.

Easy no from LA, This means we're rolling either Nick Shore, Nic Dowd or Trevor Lewis at 2c. Disagree that Gallagher destroys Carter at anything. Carts is the superior player that plays a more important position. Sure he's older, but he doesn't play like it. Sergachev is a nice piece, but Kopitar will be 34, Quick 35 and Carter 36, by the time he makes a real impact. Kempe isn't available either, we need cheap top six talent, which he has the potential to be.

Not trying to take anything away from the Montreal guys, it just doesn't make sense for the Kings.

LOL. Carter was named to Canada again, Gallagher hasn't even hit 50 pts yet. Carter has a very good two way game, should try watching a few kings games every now and then.

Carter?? :laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

I honestly would not trade Gallagher for Carter and that prospect. Habs would ban and erase the Kings number for such an offer. He's younger and wont go on a heavy decline. And we add a top 10 pick??:lol:

This says enough...

OK wait, you blow up the leafs hero chart of Gardiner saying its because he plays 4th line opponents but then try to use the same hero charts to prove Gallagher is better than a guy who has been a 1st liner in this league for a long time?

hilarious.

Carter>>>>Gallagher. I'd like to see She Webers thoughts on Jeff playing against him in the west, and with him on multiple Canadian teams (Jr's,world championships, olympics)

Gallagher is a 2nd line pest, basically a less skilled marchand. a valuable member of any team but an all star he isnt

Carter is probably the most underrated King at this point. I guess it's a combo of the "only scores in blowouts" past narrative from a portion of Philly fans, plus the "pouting" narrative out of Columbus that makes people forget what his game is. (Maybe the frosted tips, too.)

I remember a lot of uninformed Team Canadian fans similarly underrated him and pitched a fit when he was added to team Canada in 2014. But lo and behold, he ended up third on the team for points and was the leading goal scorer of Canada's forward corps.

He's the best Kings player not named Kopitar or Doughty.

I have no opinion on the trade except there's no way the Kings are trading away their 2C at this point.

While I agree that Carter gets underrated all the time, Gallagher is so much more valuable to Montreal due to all of the other elements he brings to the table. Sergachev just got drafted to essentially be Markov's heir, doubt he's available at all. Montreal declines.

Yep some habs fans need to take off there homer glasses.

Value wise, this trade isn't far off.

Carter > Gallagher
Sergachev>Kempe

While Carter and Kempe are two very interesting players, Habs need Sergachev more than any of them.

Gallagher is the catalyst of the team. I can't see the team without him.

No from a habs POV and probably a no from LA fans also.

A huge **** no from LA. I get why Montreal doesn't do the trade either, Carter is too old for what they should be dong. But in terms of value LA gets absolutely hosed.

Think as you may but Carter is the better player than Gallagher and there's very little if anything that he does better than Carts, plus Carts is on a good cap hit for the player he is. No chance LA could do this we would be a one good center team.

I agree. Doughty, Kopitar, Quick and Carter are the heart and soul of the Kings. None of them are going anywhere for a long time, maybe even to retirement.

I dont remember using anything on Gardiner?? Lol ***hurt leafs fan.
No. Gallagher, as a younger player, has twice as much value as an older Carter. Gallagher plays first line minutes. Hahahah another no knowledge leafs fan. And from what i know, Carter plays on the second line with the 70s behind Kopitar. Nice try again :laugh:
