Ylonen 8 minute TOI

can't make this up
So, all jokes aside, can someone ask MSL why this is happening? Seriously dudes like Anderson and Gally playing ahead of this kid in the lineup is embarassing right now.

I like MSL for the most part, but these types of decisions, are just dumb.

Kings average the most goals per game in the league sooo
Kings are a big fast team................good start to the season. Haven't won a round in the playoffs the last few years though....

Only play I remember is Suzuki getting levelled trying to go over the blue with Marc Denis commenting those Kings sure close up center at the blue line lol.

Christ how old is Kopitar + I hope D first hockey loses the cup to high flying offense somehow. Are there teams with both?

Kings decided to stop mediocrity and signed a solid second center 2 years ago. He became the difference maker making the PO or not. Habs in the same time went with Dvorak : cheaper and younger (lol, re-lol). But Kings didn't stop there with that improvement, they went into a good developping team for the young players supported by solid vets like Kopitar and Doughty. They trade for another solid center last summer. Today they are knocking at the door of top NHL teams, the elite small club, while Habs are stucked with whining, questionning if they drafted the right player, etc, losing, whining and questionning. Let's call it LWQ status.

But hey, they won with the WRONG way, they used the trap and it worked. It doesn't count, this is not hockey like it's supposed to be played (lol, sarcasm). But according to Kings fans they were also a back to back game and they had almost no energy compared to most games. And they found a way to score 4 goals, while shutting down the Habs.

Kings have a couple of aging players ( Doughty and Kopitar) who play key roles for this team. I suspect that they will have trouble maintaining their high level of play when facing stronger opposition in a compacted time frame they will face in the playoffs.

Kings coach can reduce icetime and skip few last games of the season. Kings will have enough pts to do that. This is an old trick teams do with aging vets. Anyway, Kings are part of the party (PO), Habs are outside and watching.

Cool story..............until they win a round in da playoff, it would seem you are jumping the gun.
Until then, a big fast team, with Cam Talbot in net.
Stay tuned....

As we have seen the last couple of playoffs....

He was carrying the mail, of course.
He tryed hard to trow his big body into the offensive zone, bullying big Kings D but ooh, there was a small superstar Habs player on his way. That small winger was immobile and ohh ugly mistake Slaf hit that superstar. After that we didn't see him trying anything, like 90% of the team. Suzuki had an ok game.

Are you surprised? Any remote chance we had of making the playoffs evaporated when Dach went down for the season. As for the Kings, unless they add significantly at the TDL, they won’t go far in the playoffs. I expect them to be active, if not aggressive, before the Doughty/Kopitar window closes for them.

Right now they are in a 3 year window. They did it in 12 and 14, not sure the exact years, I have confidence in that management. Yes they will be very pro active and agressive to make it happen, as you know finding a good goalie in the process.

An expected loss. A boring game, and Montreal could do nothing against LAK trap game.

I said 4-5 points on this road trip. We'll see what happens in Columbus.

Slaf play how ?

Everyone sucked. Even Guhle came out of it with the worst metrics on the team & he's usually our best D. 3rd line was our worst line again. Suzuki line was the only one to actually get some chances. Dvorak line was somewhere in between. 4th line mostly got hemmed in.

Bury this game & move on.

Third game in four nights; missing 5 regulars: playing a strong deep opponent and not receiving strong ( competent) goaltending, the outcome was predictable. I don’t understand what people are expecting. The results reflect who we are. There will be more disappointments going forward. Get use to it.

You mean it wasn’t all Matheson’s fault? I’m shocked.

None of these players have any chemistry other then Cole and Suzuki, and whenever we have to shake up the first line, there’s no options that work for them to play with. I’m not worried about Suzuki and Caufield. Once we have some depth, their slumps should start to disappear. Hopefully Newhook and Slafkovsky continue to improve and they can properly fill those holes and we add on top of them. The other guys need to go. The most confusing usage for me is Monahan.
