Time for pond hockey. If I were coaching, I would send the message by starting Drew, Derek, Alec, Paul, and Jake, and then following with Adrian, Nic, Anze, Jeff, and Tyler!! Screw your positions!!!

Sutter has done that before. Don't give him any ideas.

The league strongly opposes that kind of thing these days, teams are hesitant to take revenge.

Tkachuk needs a two game suspension for that hit. And to be put on the offender's list. He clearly aimed for Drew's head.

That'll be a small reprieve for not going after Calgary's top players

Can't wait for Elliot to fold up like lawn chair in the playoffs. That always brought me joy.

It's around his 40th game, it's about that time!

I'm embarrassed of this team. Whoever earlier said this looks like last year's SJ series is totally right. Just completely neutered in every way.

I think Sutter is a great coach. I think he will be hard to replace. But this team has lost its passion.

Something needs to give in the offseason.

Because he acquired Bishop, saying there's no room for error to make the playoffs, and wants to give the best starting goalie possible every day until the end of the season.

Flipped one goalie for another. No big deal.

Because he acquired a scoring winger to push the team over the edge.

Iginla had what, 8 goals with the Avs? He gave up a conditional pick that has very little chance of being reached. I'd say he got a Cup-less vet to hopefully give the guys some sort of reason to show up.

Because he didn't sell.

People keep saying that, and what is he supposed to sell? There weren't many UFA's. Clifford? Who is taking on the contract? He got an actual pick for King, not just conditional. That's selling.

Or do you know of some other GM who makes moves to try to make the playoffs while not believing the team is playoff caliber?

I don't think Lombardi has trusted this roster since the end of last season. He didn't go above and beyond to keep Lucic. He signed a handful of guys to low cost, 1 year deals in the summer. One UFA goalie went in, one UFA goalie went out, one UFA winger went in, and one UFA winger went out, at the deadline. Got a pick for King, and moved up in the draft in the Tampa deal. To me, none of that says Lombardi has believed, for almost a complete calendar year, that this is a playoff team. The roster has burned him the last few years, and this year was a prove it year. They showed they weren't good enough.

The kind of pressure Calgary was just applying in the Kings zone used to be a Kings hallmark.

The Kings need to play like they are losing!! Take chances!! Early, and often!! All D waaaaaaayyyyy up on every play!!! Go for it!!!

Agree!! Anytime they are down by 2 in the 3rd.....they need to be playing like it's an elimination game and they are down by 2 goals late.

I think this was a year where Lombardi wanted Doughty and Kopitar to take ownership and responsibility for the results.

They failed.

I do think the Kings have lost a lot of their "glue". Guys like Williams, Stoll, Mitchell, Greene, Scuderi, Regehr, etc. just didn't accept this kind of crap play from themselves or their teammates. Even in a game like this where the Kings are losing, you could count on one of the aforementioned guys trying to intimidate the opposing team by being extra physical or chippy.

Carter along with Lewis tried to lead this group, but no one followed.
