Who gives a **** about fabric letters? Seriously, it's the most overrated thing in sports.

A leader has nothing to do with some patch, it's performance. Go out there and ****ing compete every night like your job depends on it. Sick of hearing about this letter nonsense.

But it doesn't. They're getting paid one way or another. At least most of the money they signed for anyway.

But it doesn't. They're getting paid one way or another. At least most of the money they signed for anyway.

And that mindset is why this team hasn't done **** in 3 years and will continue to be a fringe playoff team. Complacency kills.

Dump the coach and GM, and allow the new group to evaluate every player. Changes need to be made.

Would love to see that ****** ****chuk taught a lesson, no I won't bother spelling his name correctly because he's not even worth the time.

Street justice.

He won't be able to hide behind a legacy pass the league has given him all year for that hit. 5 games for that bs. He did the same thing to Carter earlier in the year.

I was a big advocate of buying out Mike Richards.

I look at the cheap shot on Doughty tonight and I ask, "What would Mike Richards have done?"

This team better find a spine before next season.

Especially true when you consider that Williams, Mitchell, and Stoll were the most vocal leaders on the team back in the good old days.

Letting Williams walk was...ugh. For a guy who prides himself on culture, locker room presence, etc., Dean sure sucks at reading his own team.

I was optimistic you guys could turn it around down the stretch and I've posted here before with an optimistic message but I don't want to offer false hope and you guys know better than I do the the chances are now slim and none.

I liked the rivalry we had where we won every other year. It was fun and I rooted for you (except against the Hawks of course) plus I don't like the Sharks and Ducks.

Hope DL or ownership does the right thing. Kopitar, Doughty and Quick are all still in their prime and as long as you have that caliber core you should be able to build around them.

Good luck and hang in there.

Then the leader is Carter, and has been all season. But he can't carry a team full of passengers who look like their afraid to shoot most nights.

Appreciated, good luck to the hawks, I'd much rather see them lift the cup that any of our div rivals, going for 4!!!

As to the game, I missed it thank christ, I saw the elbow on Doughty though. Our boys not answering the bell was disgraceful, the flames did more in protecting their little ****, than our boys did trying to get even with him. Forbort should have ripped him a new one. Someone had to address that before the end of the game, weak as, no mana.

I guess Kopi and co can afford some pretty sweet golf clubs though, glass half full :)

Everyone should have considered that when they were pissing and moaning about guys like Matt Greene.

Matt Greene was good for this team a few years ago. The Matt Greene these past two years was not beneficial as he's gotten slower, if that was possible. My biggest beef are the 4th line scrubs like Andreoff and Clifford are suppose to bring energy, first get in your face and agitate type. The kings have these fridge players that don't do ****.

Teams used to hate to play against this team. Now they are a bunch of pansies just collecting a paycheck. Honestly they should be embarrassed. I know I am.

No shame on our end considering those Kings squads were the only teams in the league who could actually beat the Hawks. Best rivalry in the post-lockout era.

Exactly. This is a team without an identity. The championship teams were big, tough, gritty, and extremely hard to play against. What is the definition of this team the last few years? The hitting has dried-up and the drive to go to the tough scoring areas has disappeared. I'm beyond sick and tired of limp wristers with nobody screening and slap shots from our defensemen that are either blocked or miss the net by a mile. We are lacking speed, we are lacking skill, and the guys who are supposed to be "gritty" simply don't do anything.

I know it's been said a thousand times by this point, but bringing Sutter back after the collapse in 15/16 was beyond boneheaded.

Williams had 3 goals in the last 30 games of the 14-15 missed playoff season. Including 0 points and a -2 in must win games against Vancouver and Edmonton in the last week of that season. Hardly the big game player there. If Lombardi and Sutter need to stop living in the past, so do we.

Regehr, Mitchell, Williams, Richards would have stepped up for that Tkachuk cheap shot. Unless Sutter told them not to, there's no excuse for Iginla, Clifford, Andreof or someone getting that punk.

And Williams would be part of a dreadful trio of right wingers in Brown, Gaborik and Williams. The team needed to move on from players like Williams, Greene, Clifford, Lewis, King, Brown, Gaborik and Richards but the GM failed to see a changing league. Now the Kings look to be on the verge of another black hole with a core that appears to be listless most nights, salary cap issues, Vegas on the horizon, 2 of the worst contracts in the NHL in Brown and Gaborik, a head coach who clearly wants to go back to the farm yet has more time on his deal, a lame duck GM and a really bad free agent class this summer. This isn't getting better quickly. Whoever is the new GM will have to make his mark quickly and find a way to dispatch Brown and Gaborik without hurting the Kings long term, find a way to get faster, bring in more character players, hire a new head coach and reduce the redundancy in the bottom 6-then you have to find a #1 RW and a #1 LW.

It's okay. We can't pretend to get a point on the road against a team that is currently buttraping the league.

Calgary isn't our opponent anyway, they're like 20 pts ahead of us and already in the playoffs. If anything we have to look at STL and NSH, but maybe not really either.

Mike Richards would have snorted oxy from the bench.

I saw Kopitar go to the net to score last night, so I'm guessing Sutter "allows" more than we like to blame him for not allowing. Regehr fought one of the Sharks at the end of Game 4 in 2014. Hell, Gaborik was even getting in his face. I think it was Burns, I'm not exactly sure.

The only way Brown or Gaborik don't hurt the Kings in the future is if they keep them until their contracts run out. Anything else will cost cap space for years and years, or multiple prospects/picks.

Kopitar/Quick are no longer in their prime.

Doughty should be, but this year his play was bizarre.

The Kings are turning into what precisely everyone wanted.

A Speed/Skill/Possession team that doesn't spend all day on the walls.

The only problem is, the Kings lack players to make that system work.

Playing like the Redwings of 2000's makes you soft as can be as well.
