Complete and total speculation on my part BUT ... if you want to know what his move means for the rest of the roster (IR, Ontario etc)

Watch very closely to see if any players are sent back to Ontario later today or tomorrow morning.

Frk and Wolanin were reassigned to Ontario today.

Tomorrow is the deadline (I believe) for players to be eligible to play in the AHL playoffs.

Precursor move? We def. aren't short on offensive smallish RHD... the experience is nice of course but with Doughty/Roy/(Walker, RIP)/Durzi/Spence who's he knocking off?

I KNOW we aren't sending Durzi back for the Reign playoffs. Spence makes sense.

GREAT value though.

I assume this bumps Strand from the line-up

Maata-Durzi
Edler-Stetcher
Moverare-Spence
Strand

Once Doughty and Roy are back Stetcher is probably the #7, unless one of the RDs can switch over to the left.

I liked Strand playing, he’s been doing ok (disclaimer, didn’t see yesterdays game) but hopefully it’s just for depth. Keep wolanin down and Stecher is the 7D? Or is he an upgrade to Strand?

Spence has played an average of 23 minutes in the last 5 games, Durzi something like 25. if this is meant to bump either of them out of the lineup, it's stupid.

Yet if it's to bump Strand out, who is like the only player left we have over 6 feet tall, I can accept it, but still kinda stupid. Who's gonna pk?

Dunno, it's pretty much a nothing move regardless.

Stetcher is a UFA this summer, given he only cost a 7th I would highly doubt there's any intention to re-sign him. Probably just hoping to get a couple games out of him and keep us in the playoff hunt.

I'm so disappointed.

Troy Stretcher brings nothing new to the table; just more of the same. You think he's an upgrade over Durzi/Spence/Strand? I don't.

And I don't mean to be THAT person but.. size matters. We have a bunch of 5 foot 4 170lb D out there. All this does it take more time away from our youngsters.
