I'm so disappointed.

Troy Stretcher brings nothing new to the table; just more of the same. You think he's an upgrade over Durzi/Spence/Strand? I don't.

And I don't mean to be THAT person but.. size matters. We have a bunch of 5 foot 4 170lb D out there. All this does it take more time away from our youngsters.

The youngsters time will come, just not this year.
Next year team camp will be most interesting

If you assume Doughty, Roy, Anderson, and Bjornfot will be back at some point, players will be going back to Ontario, and it'll be Moverare, Strand, and Spence. Doughty/Roy/Durzi on the right, Anderson/Edler/Bjornfot on the left. Maatta and Stecher as the healthy scratches. There's nowhere for Spence to keep playing here with a healthy roster. Or send Durzi down and keep Spence, whatever, but one of them won't be here if everyone is back.

To be disappointed, let alone so disappointed, is like being excited about the move. It's a depth D for a 7th rd pick. Ain't nothing to cry about.

FYI Mikey Anderson was just placed on LTIR. Agree that Strand and likely Spence go back at some point (don't be surprised if there is a paper transaction for both those players tomorrow so they are eligible for the Calder Cup playoffs). I believe Moverare is very close to or has already passed days on an NHL roster since he last cleared waivers, and if that's true, he would have to clear waivers again this year, which may mean he is with the Kings to stay for the rest of the year.

I assume this bumps Strand from the line-up

Maata-Durzi
Edler-Stetcher
Moverare-Spence
Strand

Once Doughty and Roy are back Stetcher is probably the #7, unless one of the RDs can switch over to the left.
Strand should not be in line-up anyway.

I asked for a LD with a pulse and willing to give up to 2 3rds.. just a 7th beats expectations!

Tweet as posted by Deaderhead28 on the other thread...this is one reason it makes sense: Edler and Stecher were a pairing in Vancouver and
they will probably be instant pairing. Moverare and Strand were not so great last game; albeit they've been pretty damn good, considering.
Also, as pointed out by Regulate, Mikey Anderson just went on LTIR. So, this is a good deal and will help stabilize the D corps.

No one is benching a bunch of kids to play Troy f***ing Stetcher. He's filler until the regulars return and press box material after. He barely could play in Detroit, he's not playing much here.

Who knows? One word out there, is that after the Bruins got Lindholm, they dropped out of the Chychrun sweepstakes and the Kings have the best offer going for him...what if a defenseman were to move as part of the package and they need another defenseman, until Chychrun can play? Apparently in 1-2 weeks. I hope there's another Kings deal in the works....Chychrun, Boeser, Forsberg, Debrincat, Konecny....no to Garland, DeHaan, etc please.
Please try to move AI for almost anything. Need to show the players, they are not safe, if they cannot produce for 2 months...that Todd cannot protect them. This would be a good thing. Accountability, like the real world.

There are games when Stecher looks incredibly good.
Not this year, really. He's been hurt all year.
He's what you expect of a 5'10 defenseman.
Good skater. Decent IQ. Can get overwhelmed in his own zone.
Sometimes, he looks like he should produce offense. But for whatever reason, he doesn't.
He's a decent depth guy and that's it.

Sounds like a small Jamie McBain.

For a 7th this is a great move considering our injury situation. Give up virtually nothing for depth and helps our depleted D.

We all know with how Todd deploys his players Stecher is already pencilled in on the number 1 pp unit. Nevermind with the way the special teams are why the hell not. Lol.

One f***en name Todd Mclellan. It will happen. LOL.

Given Bjornfot is close to coming back and that Spence has done so well, it wouldn't surprise me if this move is being done to provide cover for someone going out the other way today. It will not have been done for the Reign IMO, that was the Hickey deal and there are always players that will fill AHL spots so you don't use draft picks for it. If we make a trade today it will be for scoring and one of our D will be in the deal. IF.
