Reaper45 is right on track with his comment. On this team it no longer matters if the 2C is a good one or not, and there is no need to rush any of the kids even if they are better players than the player they would be replacing on the NHL roster.

Got rid of Lucic, signed Beleskey a few days later. Let Eriksson walk for nothing in a year they missed the playoffs, then signed Backes a few months later. But, you get some great production from a couple 30+ year olds(although Marchand was 29 last year), and a late 1st rounder, and it can help cover up a lot of mistakes.
