A powerplay that converts 3/11 would've been tied for being the best powerplay in the league last year. It would've been tied for 4th among team seasons over the last 5 years. You're not making the point you think you're making.
Read again.

If you take out the outlier (Ducks game) the PP is 3-16. Which is roughly 18%.

The Ducks game can't be taken seriously, that team is tanking for Bedard. The fact the Rangers allowed as many goals as they did in that game is alarming.

As soon as we didn't score on our quick back2back PP's, I automatically knew this was a loss. As soon as SJ got their PP, we all knew they would score.

It's amazing how there's nothing new under the sun
I wish you could have known the lottery numbers too.

Tell me....did you know they were going to lose after they went up 2-1 in the second? You also knew they were gonna shit the bed in the 3rd when they gave up less than 10 shots in the first two combined? Yes, yes, we all know you must have....

yes.

I don't play lotto.

Trash all around but only game 5. Not going into panic mode at all.

But boy oh boy does BA need to practice positioning with Igor.

He really, really does. Igor trying to force and chase saves that aren't required is costing him dearly.

When he has a game not going his way, I find he tends to try to go for some theatrics in a save to either get the team or crowd riled up. (IMO) Thankfully it's not often but I noticed it with too much frequency lately (Ducks/Sharks)

He'll be fine, Benoit will reel him in.

If he wasn't just a bit shaky in the other games, I would have chalked last night up to the full team shitshow.

They get full of themselves... again.

Drop pass, Harlem globetrotters on ice at the blue line. Didn't do anything

WTF is going on with Fox. Spare me point totals, he's not playing anywhere close to his capabilities. I'd possibly change up the D-pairs just to shake things up. Things look too complacent.

We've had opportunities, but poor finish. Trouba one stands out the most.

Our transition is god awful. PLEASE change something. It was exposed by David Quinn... that's embarrassing. We refuse to move up as a team, supporting the puck.

The game was somewhat expected... Even with the expectations, it's hard to watch.. On to the the next.
I'm far from an analytics guru, but doesn't the following YTD data indicate he's playing well so far this season.

Weaknesses also become prevalent when Shesty isn't in godmode.

There are way too many breakdowns defensively. We are way too weak defending the middle of the ice.

It's a rough start for Shesty and the team defense but we're still winning/getting pts. When he's locked in and we clean up the defense, we're elite.

Among the top 9, the backchecking has been atrocious, but the only ones who seem to even care about it are the three kids, but they've still made mistakes.

Net front defense is a disaster like its generally been the last few seasons. Guys just not locating the puck on passes and rebounds.

I'm telling you.... this team needs a Torts type.

Gallant needs to be harder on them.

If we come up short, either this postseason or next, Drury will go to a motivator.

Gallant just isn't that guy. This team is going to ride or die for now based entirely on the players self-motivation.

My ultimate reaction to last night: whatever.

The NHL regular season is essentially a hunters and gatherers race for points. Beauty doesn't get more points or a higher score.

Teams are bucketed into expectation projections (something like 1. Tank mode, 2. Progress for development 3. Try and get in the dance 4. Bracketing for the dance 5. Top Tier Autopilot). I'd say the Rangers are in group four.

The whole motto for this season should be "work smarter not harder".

Who cares if the Rangers are inconsistent or don't win the division? The goal is to get ready and ensure 100% health for the spring. It would be nice to avoid Pittsburgh in a first round matchup (they're definitely playing pissed off so far and have an excellent team) but at some point to be the man, the Rangers are going to need to go through at least two of Pittsburgh/Islanders/Washington/Carolina.

DQ 1st star
Sturm 2nd star and perfect deadline pickup
There Goalie 3rd

GG is gonna be hot these next few days...he may do some shuffling to rustle some feathers...Reeves needs a break...Filip has become a MAN without hormone replacement therapy..I am going Sunday bet we win

thanks for posting that picture. I do not know what you're refuting.

he's not playing anywhere close to his capabilities.

And he still has five points playing half-assed or three quarter-assed.

Good, it's time for Kravstov to get another "National Hockey League Opportunity " (Vince McMahon doesn't allow saying title shot :) )

Vesey was pretty invisible last night so my guess is he comes out before Reaves.

PP starts with Mika's one timer. I think he took one or two last night despite the numerous PPs. SJ honed in on the cross ice seam pass because Mika's one timer was not in the back of their head. When he lets rip often enough you often see the high and low PKers cheat their sticks over to him and only then can Mika shiver in ecstacy as he fulfils his deepest fantasy and one time pass it to CK, Trocek, Panarin, or Fox for the tap in.

Yes because you can go years without losing a game like this. Last time they lost a game like this was 07-08 to the 0-6 Thrashers. You can't just throw away points in a league like this.
What do you mean losing a game like this? They lost a 1 goal game in OT and got a point. They had a number of games like this only last year. Lets not overreact.

We'll see how good a leader Trouba is.... hopefully those books he's reading pay off

Def. And I can bet you that is happening at this very moment.

If they aren't ending practice with suicides, calling them out in the press is 'meh'.

They at no point last year lost to the worst team in the league. The closest they came was the Coyotes game in Arizona but they were tired and played on the road and won it.
