The team is just too cocky right now. They're been reading their press clippings and want to Harlem Globetrotter every team out there. They were playing game 5 hockey while the Sharks were playing playoff hockey. They can't keep playing game 5 hockey all season. They have to tighten up and stop trying to Harlem Globetrotter every team. And despite him redeeming himself in the 3rd period somewhat Igor has been playing slightly above average hockey at best.

Igor hasn’t shown up at all. Not sure what’s happening here. Dude needs to defend his Vezina but is playing like he needs a compass to locate the crease at times.

I have complete faith in Alaire to fix this garbage though.

It was a weird game to start with all of the penalties through the first half of the first period. A lot of players didnt see the ice and couldnt get into any kind of 5 on 5 flow.

Im also gonna give the Sharks PK credit because they disrupted the Rangers top players enough to force them into making errors. After the 2 or 3 powerplays where the Rangers couldnt convert or really get any quality chances I felt that frustration/over playing the puck carrying over into the rest of the game.

The Rangers made a lot of unforced errors and just werent on their game. They didnt have enough puck support. I also thought a few players werent moving their feet enough. It was one of those weird games were they just couldnt get things going. Happens to all teams.

The real issue is the defense, and its all players forwards and D. They need to put some time in practice to get back to a more solid, simplified structure. What they really need is a stretch of road games and a few with Halak in net. Both of those things usually help in that regard.

I would go right back to the well with Igor against Columbus at home though

Fox played his worst gam as a Ranger. I've not really watched him play that bad before.. It's a game that was impossible to watch and a game that was even less significant. A point in a game like that shows how good this team is. They played hard for maybe 7 minutes out of the 60. Can't expect the team to put 100% into every game.

There's definitely truth to this one though lol, Fox has looked bad for quite some time now. Lowkey I think people are soft on him because of his backstory growing up a Ranger fan from NY, he deserves way more shit than Panarin gets.

And yet Fox will outscore Kravtsov by 60-70 points.

No he didn't. Fox averaged nearly a ppg last year during the regular season and playoffs. Maybe not as good as his Norris winning year but still good. Panarin had a shit playoffs but looks great this year so far.

I really don’t understand why the crowd booed Quinn. I’m happy they fired him and he was a pretty bad coach but he was a good guy who definitely cared. He didn’t deserve to be booed, that was pretty embarrassing.

We've had opportunities, but poor finish. Trouba one stands out the most.

Our transition is god awful. PLEASE change something. It was exposed by David Quinn... that's embarrassing. We refuse to move up as a team, supporting the puck.

The game was somewhat expected... Even with the expectations, it's hard to watch.. On to the the next.

not to pick out 1 specific play (because there were more) but losing a board "battle" when its 3 of our players (Mika, Trochek and Fox) to 1 of theirs......well, thats pathetic. should NEVER happen, and I believe it was on 1 of many blown PP's? We didn't lose early, but had we scored on at least 2 of 3 early PP's, we would have won going away.
Their goalie stole the show, and Shesty wasn't exactly outstanding, but he shouldnt "have to be" against a pathetic Sharks team.
They had 3 or 4 players that REALLY wanted to win, did we?
Thought the kids played rather well, especially Filip.

Yes, this. Fox made many "non-Foxy" boneheaded plays. We don't expect that from him. IMO, k'Andre is gaining, even may have already surpassed him as our best defenseman. Sorry Trouba

Missed the game. We did not get a lot of shots on goal but we had 2 (or was it more?) post/bar hits and Trochek had 2 really good opportunities.

Were we really that bad? Judging by the highlights we could've easily scored 3-4 more goals.

As soon as we didn't score on our quick back2back PP's, I automatically knew this was a loss. As soon as SJ got their PP, we all knew they would score.

Fox had a good playoff run and a couple good games this year too. Last night was his absolute worst. But I don’t think he’s regressed since the Norris that much. He’s still elite even if not Norris level every night.

Last night notwithstanding of course. He f***ing stunk.

I still like him as a player and want him out there against the other team’s best players.

Completely agree with this, they were 100% smelling their own farts. Once SJ pressed they needed to get pucks deep because the D was high and not in great position to retrieve the puck. Laying a few hits on the D would also soften things up a bit.
