That's their only success so far and it's not a large one. We'll find out this year as their entire rebuild/process will be for nothing if Allen has a third-year like Trubisky/Bortles.

Eh, strong disagree on all levels. Even if Allen isn’t the one, that’s okay and not a failure of the regime. But sports is full of teams picking shorty coaches and GMs until they don’t

So they're overdue to get it right. The odds are with us.
If your cat takes a dump in your bed every day for 6 years it's obvious he'll finally do it in the litter box tomorrow.

McDermott and Beane have passed on all 3 QBs in the AFC Pro Bowl and the last 2 NFL MVPs. If they screwed up on QB they will have accomplished nothing.

He's a solid yes man. The Pegula's tell him to stand in front of them and shield them from bullets and he just nods.
Loyalty isn't a bad quality. It works both ways. You can't have a solid employer-employee relationship without it. The Pegulas are also loyal to Adams. That's why I think he's going to be given everything he wants to implement his plan.

I hope so I just feel like I've heard the same song and dance every 3 years from every GM and the Pegulas

It's nice that he's loyal. He is also the most bizarre and unqualified GM hire since Garth Snow got promoted from Isles backup goalie to the team's GM.

Same people that failed at every recruitment before they landed McDermott?

Let's not get too lovey-dovey with McDermott. While the Bills are not the tire fire that the Sabres are, McD is a .500 coach whose team/QB has looked bad in 2 wildcard losses.

However, in Buffalo, I realize that is kind of like winning 3 championships in a row.

He's only a bizarre GM hire if we are to assume ownership is doing everything in their power to win, and that winning is their primary concern. It's not.

Their concern now is saving money first and foremost, and running a much tighter ship that can be controlled more effectively under their direct influence.

In that sense, bringing in the ultimate "YES" man and corporate guy in Adams makes all the sense in the world.

It ain't going to get better any time soon, folks.

What a weird take

Weird? The current Bills regime is right in the middle of the league, with pretty much everyone. As noted, in Buffalo this is thought of as something of a success, particularly in the light of our history.

I'm not a big fan of McDermott (his in-game coaching is terrible) and Josh Allen is going to bust this season. This is the year his potential has to become realized, and he's not good enough to do that on a consistent basis.
