Id take Regier back in a heartbeat over these clowns they’ve had since he got fired. Yeah he also took too long to make trades but he actually made huge impact trades acquiring top tier talent while Adams takes even longer and doesn’t acquire shit.

It’s crazy to me that Pegula preaches EEE, and Adams yaps about palm trees and taxes.

Pegula purchased a team operating under EEE and they won the Presidents Trophy and went to the Conference Finals. Before that they played in the Stanley Cup!!!!

EEE and Palm Trees aren’t holding them back. Leadership is.

I agree...those three have to be in the back of Terry's mind if he ever does decide to make a change...They are qualified!

To your point I think our best (only?) way out of this is a joint hire with somebody Pegula trusts. Sorta like the Bills.

The NJD hires make a lot of sense because of the Ruff connection. I think there’s a place for somebody like MacKinnon who’s VP and AGM if him and Ruff for along.

That could be a McBeane situation for Buffalo and Lindy could then move to a POHO role for a bit, MacKinnon to EVP until Lindy decides he just wants to go fishing. But the team is already in place.

I wonder if Ruff still has ties to Dallas? I think one of the Stars AGM could be an option.

I think we should all make a pact. The moment he’s fired…we take a day or two to react and then never talk about this unqualified puppet ass yes man again. He’s not a Sabre so there is no attachment beyond this tenure. He didn’t see fit to do anything while in the chair…let his name fade into nothing as it deserves to. Let’s just pretend he was never here. If you need a former GM to compare a future GM to when you’re frustrated by their inactivity…just use Darcy. Let’s give Adams the due he’s earned. By forgetting him altof***ingether.

Having a coach with enough clout to choose the gm is another awful, toxic situation that bucks all procedural normality of a competitive nhl program.

Especially for lindy Ruff, who frankly, isn't a great coach.

Coaches in the nhl are throwaway for the most part. It's very different than the nfl. You can't change your players so easily, so the coach takes the fall and you change your lockerroom that way

I partly agree that although Raff is experienced and has connections, I am afraid of what kind of POHO/Advisor he would be. You can just hire an experienced person for this role, who has previously been a GM/POHO for many years and achieved some success. And he will have to conduct interviews for the GM role.

Would a 76 year old guy living in Florida with a low stress advisory job want to walk into this tire fire?
Most likely not, but you never know. In fact, studying this so-called "market", I noticed that it would be difficult to find a good experienced GM, there are many older people there who would rather take the position of a POHO/advisor than a GM.

We aren't in a normal NHL situation. We have Terry Pegula, who bucks most NHL trends. The only successful data point we have is McBeane.

So we have two options:
1. A tiger changes its stripes
2. Terry has enough trust in Ruff to try and right this ship himself.

If I had to choose one that Terry is most likely to do and benefit the franchise, it is option two.

I am not advocating for any other franchise in the NHL to go down this route. I am begging Terry to do something that he just might agree to (because he already did it once). I'd prefer to give that option a go before selling the team and possible losing it.

Terry is never ever going throw a ton of money at Jim Nill to leave Dallas and give him control. He won't even do that for Janko or White who sit underneath him. There is just no scenario where Terry hires a well respected hockey man, 2x's his staffing, and stays in Boca Raton.

26 days since the last Sabres win

13 days since the GM publicly stated he was incapable of doing his job.

3 days since the owner told everyone these things were perfectly acceptable

I can’t imagine any other GM’s in the NHL take Adams seriously. When they have conversations with him, they have to be thinking in the back of their minds “this is just Terry Pegula’s b*tch”. This organization is a dumpster fire.
You have to wonder if the players think it too and if it affects the on ice product.

You would think one has nothing to do with the other but as a player deep down inside you know you are a part of a clown show

Absolutely. This is 100% speculation, but I imagine guys like Mitts, Eichel and Reinhart stay in touch with a few guys on the Sabres and are telling them to get the f*** out of there. And there’s no way the kids on this team aren’t seeing fan reactions on social media, they have to know how dysfunctional this organization is. But… they’re also getting paid a lot of money so yeah, maybe they just don’t care.

Compete for the first 20 seconds against the Leafs tomorrow, and they have outdone themselves.

They're likely to lose this game badly.

Yet, this is exactly the kind of game Toronto gifts teams like us, and they'll try to.

Not entirely sure who fails, so I'll watch.
