National discourse is on a massive uptick. Obviously every local podcast/coverage site is in overload…but, having not listened to them yet, the latest two National podcasts in my feed are titled “The Answer is in the Room” from Puck Soup and a slightly less subtle “Why Buffalo won’t win until Pegula sells the Sabres” from the Athletic podcast.

It might seem like nothing but a large part of Adams job is to insulate Terry from criticism. The flying to Montreal only to watch the team get trounced and fall to last place bit has moved the blame to Pegula in places he isn’t going to like being mocked. Which is…everywhere.

Clock is ticking.

“Team plunges to last place following owner’s inspirational speech” is the type of headline this clown can’t hide from.

If my boss hired me knowing I have no experience at the job, I wouldn’t expect to get fired if I’m not good at the job right away. It’s an unreasonable expectation.

The funniest part of this situation is that any time someone says something like “no other team would still be employing Adams as GM after this disaster” all i can think is…you could have said that every single day of his tenure here. I don’t know that everyone truly grasps how ridiculous a hire this was. He’s been the worst GM in the league from the moment he became GM. And it has never been close.

Kevyn Adams, being a discount GM, has staffed the organization with discount AGMs and discount scouting directors. Elevating the ridiculously inexperienced Crowe to head of both pro and amateur scouting, while wasting resources (in an attempt to save resources) into the sham enterprise of hockey anal-lytics (Karmanos, Ventura) has produced exactly zero interesting prospects outside the first two rounds of the draft and exactly zero diamonds in the rough in terms of minor UFA signings.

And WTF is up with this coaching staff? Every interesting prospect seems to deteriorate over time the longer they're exposed to these coaches. Every young defensemen has gotten worse, like Power and Samuelsson, and forwards such as Cozens, Quinn, and Peterka seem to get dumber and weaker with each passing shift. Miraculously Benson has seemed to escape this trend, but don't think for one instant this staff ain't doing the damndest to tank his game too.

You can't just launch Adams into the sun without strapping 3/4 of the guys underneath him to his back. The dysfunction runs deep.

Lindy couldn’t even hire his own staff. There is no way they are gassing 3/4 of the hockey ops staff and replacing them with quality, experienced people.

I wonder if KA seemed setup by having to give Forton a AGM designation this past off season. He's used that setup word a few times now.

Three dark horse candidates: Seattle Assistant GM Alexandra Mandrycky, NJ Assistant GM Kate Madigan, and NJ Director of Player Development Meghan Duggan.

I agree...those three have to be in the back of Terry's mind if he ever does decide to make a change...They are qualified!

I understand that removing that much of the staff is impossible overnight from a logistical perspective, but it's definitely something a new GM could/should accomplish in relatively short order.

The reality is Adams is not making decisions by himself in a vacuum and leans heavily on the crew he's assembled to inform his roster construction decisions. When he states "you're not seeing what we're seeing" he's referring to not only himself but both his anal-lytics guys and pro/amateur scouts. He's right, we're really not sure what they're seeing,, but the rest of us have seen enough.

They all gotta go, eventually.
