Ok, but that doesn't really happen to Shattenkirk.
Of course it does. He was hardly ever on the ice during defensive draws. Or at end of close games. When the opposition usually has their better offensive players on the ice. He has always been missing when the oppositions top line has been on the ice.

Man Marc Staal must be quite the locker room vet. If and When he is scratched I will truly be shocked. Then again him in the lineup insures a top 5 pick I believe.

Again, patently false.

Go on corsica and research deployment if you're going to talk about deployment.

Because if he were to be removed from the lineup and replaced with “anyone from the Rangers farm system all the way down to the beer leagues cuz omg lmfao black eyed peas my humps getting jiggy with it ROFL would work” this team would be going on a deep buyers run which would f*** up the rebuild.

as long as he's gone when the team is really ready to compete in 2/3 years.

Re: guys like Shattenkirk, Zibanejad, Kreider, and a few others ---

I somewhat expect Quinn to be a little harder on them. Not because they'll always necessarily deserve it, but because they're expected to be the leaders.

I also think there's the expectation now that the Rangers want to see these guys drive the bus --- and that comes with an expectation that they're going to be the tone setters and the examples.

I don't view it Quinn not liking them, or being unfair to them. I view it was Quinn counting on them.

So AV’s Russian Bias did not create a bias towards Norwegians who are Italian?

The same way Poti became one.

You know if some hockey stat database were hacked and a bunch of stats now looked as if Bobby Orr was way, way inferior to Keith Yandle as far as a respective generational impact, you would have at least 10 people calling you a f***ing idiot for even suggesting Bobby Orr was one of the best players ever, and how not using Yandle, who is a superior player to Bobby Orr, was proof of Gordie Clarke making Adam Clendening on his 5th team give AV a bias to not use Yandle properly.

Which also allows to keep the narrative that he is a top pairing defenseman. To which the never ending rebuttal is that one cannot be a top paring defensemen if you are kept away from the opposition's top players.

Are you saying that by maximizing his offensive abilities, that he should not be on the ice at the end of games when the lead is being protected? Wouldn't you want to expand your lead then?

Are you telling me Duncan Keith and Victor Hedman are not top pairing defenseman?

A new coach can not come right in and take one of the longest tenured players on the team not named Lundqvist and scratch him from day one. The coach will have no respect in the locker room. He has to wait until they get some games in to do that. Shattenkirk still has a lot to prove on this team. He accomplished nothing last year playing on one leg and he has yet to do anything in the pre-season or the first 3 games to change any perceptions on him. He has not earned anything yet as a Ranger. Granted Staal is slowing down and not what he used to be but there was a time when he helped this team. I will also go as far to say that the whole team played like dung defensively and how people can put it all on Staal is beyond me.

This, and he might also think Shatty is a bit a dumb ass.

Didn't the same stats also suggested that Scott Stevens was a bad defenseman? Kieth Yandle......shut down defenseman......wow.
