Hello Leafs friends! A talented sharks fan (@annfrazi) made this awesomeness and I thought you guys might like it too to celebrate the Pavs to Kessel hat trick from today's game (even if you all are #TeamCanada lol). Been a lot of fun to watch so far, hope it continues :naughty:

Thanks for adding the link to her twitter. She's cute. I'm going to ask her out.

He's probably just referencing offensive capabilities. There's no doubt Toews is better in the defense and #intangibles categories.

Toews intangibles are killing it in the olympics. No doubt that is the reason they are winning. It has nothing to do with the insane defensemen and Doughty.

As much as I'm a fan of Kessel, I would trade him for Toews. Way better all around game.

I will not. Toews is frustrating to watch most of the time and goes into huge scoring drouths. You better have someone on his line who actually can put puck into the net. half-:sarcasm:

I'm not sure if you're attacking my comment or just reverberating the #intangibles aspect of Mr. Toews. But yes, I agree, Doughty is clearly behind Toews' intangibles as the best asset to Team Canada at these Olympics.

Intangibles>>tangibles.

Who needs goals when you got CORSI and faceoffs.:handclap:

Kessel is as good a winger as Toews is a center, I'll put it that way. Center is just generally considered to be the more important position, because people tend to think of it in terms of building an ideal team from scratch. But there are plenty of teams in the league who, based on the current make-up of their roster/prospect pool, would stand to gain more by adding Kessel than Toews, and vice-versa.

Patrick Kane calls Phil Kessel "probably the best guy I've ever played with. He's unbelievable."

Phil the AMAZING!

My perfect outcome is if Canada wins the gold but Kessel wins MVP

...and don't think that's possible tho bc i odn't think they can make the gold medal match again. they'd end up playing in the semis :dunno:

toews plays with much better wingers. i would like to see how he looks playing with the wing version of bozo.

i would say kessel is a better rw than toews is a centre

Its difficult to compare the two because of their contrasting styles. Kessel is definitely the more explosive offensive player but Toews has the all-around game that Kessel lacks. You'd also be hard pressed to find a better player to build your hockey team around than Toews so although I'm a huge Leafs fan and am thrilled that Kessel's been able to elevate his game on such a giant stage my vote is still with Toews

Problem for us is that we dont see Toews on a consistent enough basis.

All my viewings of Toews make me thing of a faster, slightly more skilled Bergeron. Wins faceofs, outstanding defensively, always making plays, great at entering the d-zone. Limits: not the greatest shot, doesnt maybe have the absolute top level stickhandling.

Actually my biggest criticism of Toews (in what I have seen) is that he sometimes looks like too much of a perimeter player. Im not expecting him to be like JVR or anything, but I think sometimes he gets caught up to much in a cycling game which, in this NHL doesnt lead to as much offence

That being said, I would really think hard about trading him for Kessel, he is that good.

I love Kessel, but..........I'd trade Kessel for Toews in a HEARTBEAT.

Toews>Kessel

This is a guy who in the last 4 years has played a huge roll in two Stanley cups and a gold medal (potentially two). Toews is always a top selke player who puts up good numbers while leading his team.

Kessel's offense is better, no doubt. But kessel isn't complete like toews is.

Chicago's captain has lead his team to 2 X Stanley Cup and earned a Conn Smythe trophy in the process. His character and leadership is through the roof.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see Toews given the assignment to go head to head against Kessel's line and Bergeron asked to keep Kane in check. Both team Canada players playing 200ft games.

That is of course if its Canada verses USA in the semi finals baring any upsets. :crossfing

In the end I'm pretty happy with the guy we've got. Nice to have gamebreaking skill on the top line along with improved (though certainly not elite) two-way play.

I actually agreed with you, but whatever you think champ. :naughty:

Oh Man......the EGO. ;)

Maybe you should spend a little less time time supporting the tr......er, "realists".......and more time on enjoying what the Leafs are doing this season.

You might have a little more fun.

:)

Yeah, let's derail the thread for some moronic argument about nothing.
