Yes of course if he's good. The guy is expected to go top 10 in this draft. He's going to be good.
Not all top 10 picks pan out, and end up being as good as each other. It's the scouts' job to find out who will pan out and who will be the best.

Look at KK versus Tkachuk, or in the 2016 draft, big guys like Oli Jolevi, Logan Brown and Jesse Puljujarvi, who turned out to be much worse than 5'10 Clayton Keller. Just because Michkov and Benson are smaller, doesn't mean they aren't better.

Hatred...wrong...I like Jake Evans as a person...friendly, easy-going...generally a nice guy.
If we want to talk penalty killing...Jake Evans and the Habs PK unit ranked 29th this last year. Yes...that qualifies as weak.

Depends on BPA.

Like I said a week ago, people keep bleating "BPA", yet as soon as a narrative coalesces in their minds, suddenly need is all they see.

Clb might very well pick a centerman, but that will depend on who's available and their own assesment, not yours or mine and whatever they say right now is just posturing.

Just last year, Habs had a huge hole to fill at center and one available at the top of the draft, yet picked a winger over him.

What I believe is that Clb are preparing for trade talks as the Provorov trade points to them pushing on the accelerator and they might just trade that pick for a young center who can play next year or the second best option.
You don't think that Fantilli, Carlsson and Smith are the BPA after Bedard? I doubt CLB goes for Michkov based on his contract.

From day 1 KK’s offence was a bit of a mystery. Everyone liked that he was a big 2 way Center that plays well both ways and could score. Many people didn’t know if his highest plateau was 60 points. His offence was a project. The rest of his game was good enough to get him to the NHL.
Except his skating

So our PK was 29th because of Jake Evans ?

Cole Caufield is not a good player on the PP, MTL had the worst PP in the league

Yes it does, but not in the very limited scope you offered. Typical "since I don't see another purpose, it 100% means there's no other purpose". Think a little further. It's not just about Michkov, that's your own limited scope, your own little box you tried to steer the argument towards, but overall it's about not showing their hand or pretending they are.

Your absolutisms bore me. Keep believing what you will, i don't really give a flying f***. Whatever relevant arguments I'll give, you'll either create another one of your patented absolutisms or deny part of reality, which you both already did.

"100% managing expectations"!!

Have fun in lala land.

I used to like you as a poster here, but wow... not sure who pissed in your conflake today, but what ever... I never attack you yet you keep telling me i'm delusional.

I'm sharing my perspective of the situation, feel free to never comment again.

This is irrational hatred of a guy who is more than effective at his job.

Who cares about +/- on the 4th line of a rebuilding team?

He literally played the 4th C role in our cup finals run and was a big part of it.
You have to admit that the guy is one of the most resilient punching bags you’ll ever see. He constantly gets obliterated and somehow keeps coming back like the T-1000 from The Terminator.

I love Evans and the whole bromance he had with Ducharme as he rose through the ranks but this poor guy’s neuron count is getting seriously impacted. I’m glad he made some decent coin and for his sake, he’d better be looking at an early exit from the game.

I guess because Jake Evans is a nice guy, he gets a pass. Let's just level criticism at Drouin, Hoffman and Armia...nice approach...lol!!!

I'll take a big guy that can play and have an impact on the game, those players don't grow on trees. Imagine if you will a perfect world where Josh Anderson scores 30 and hits people like a freight train, every team in the league wants that type of player.
Well he scored 21 in 69 games on a bottom feeder in pace for 25 per 82 games and people here still dislike him. Also 139 hits, 3rd on the team after Pezz and Xhekaj.
You sure 5 extra goals would make him that gem everyone chasing and hfboards can tolerate?

f***ing Kent Hughes, like him or not he masters communication, all he had to do is name dropping the Tkachuks and Leonard is now the popular name over here and on the few next media releases. Manage expectations they say

If Leonard is what we walk away with after this frustrating season, I'm disappointed, don't shoot me
People assume that tanking guarantees the Matthews and McDavid.

Tanking does not guarantee shit. Drafting well and building a top notch organisation does.

Don't shoot me.

Those guys don't have the same role then Evans

They are there to produce offence and they don't
Evans has a perfect job...don't have to produce...play as a centre on the 4th line...20 goals in four years...all is good!!!....lol.
If his name was Tremblay, Morin or Côté...I know, he wouldn't get a free pass.

By scoring 1.73 goals per 60 minutes of 5v5 ice time, Caufield is tied with Nathan MacKinnon for 5th overall in the league.

Plenty wrong with Jake Evans...for four years, he's been our 4th line centre....can't produce offensively....our 4th line lacks grit.... prefer Belzile over Evans...offers grit and determination to the 4th line.
I'd like to see Belzile get the 4c job.

But I'd then put Evan's at 3c, and Dco at number 1 RW with Nick and Cole. Watch his production and trade value skyrocket.

I agree with that at 100 % even if the BPA is a LD you take him

The point was more that not only they are good players but both would fil a different need
McCarron was mind f***ed by Lefebrve as well. Regardless of his talent. I’ll never forget the damage that piece of shit did to our franchise.
