Fine but can we agree that Boomers f***ed things up royally?

We'd probably disagree on most things non-hockey but I agree with anyone stating Boomer's have a high degree of culpability into turning the country and the world into shit.

Most are more worried about their RETIREMENT than anything else; world left behind could be a hellhole for all they care

Unterwassermann ist zu Hause mit seinem kleinen Staubsauger

I have studied German for about 10-12 years since 3rd grade. Disliked the first 8 years, loved it since then
Bro i have had German in my exams. And i was bad! But how can someone be stupid enough to study german? I mean what you wanna study ? Germany is boring and our language is f***ing difficult and unimportant in this world!

Respect for your work! But for what is it good? Your working for a german company? Or you need to speak german at your work?

I had a cousin take German in high school for his language class. He went to a public school in the suburbs though where the enrollment is huge so the resources a big too to meet that.

I went to private school (Catholic) in the city so the enrollment was much smaller & likewise the resources. So I had no choice but to take Spanish for a language class.

I took four years of German in high school because when you got to G4 you were allowed to go on a trip.

They canceled said trio my senior year, of course.

Haha it was the only language that was taught in my small village elementary school back in 1998 in 3rd grade. Then I went to high school in 2001 and my parents figured (rightly so) it wouldnt make sense to throw away what I learned in the previous years, and started with English several years later.
It got surprisingly useful when I landed my first job in 2014, I never aimed to get to a German company but I accidentally ended up with REWE, and went for several trips to Vienna + there were corporate guys coming over from Cologne so it got quite handy. Now I havent been using it for 2 - 3 years at work again but its always fun to go out to Austria or Germany and understand majority of stuff on the streets etc

Is the grading system different over there or are you a genius? That’s a big jump.

There are several confusing steps that can be taken in the Czech edu system but basically my way was: 1st-5th grade elementary school; next 8 years grammar school/high school (usually for kids who leave elementary school early and aim to go to college; you can go to high school either after the 5th or after the 9th grade here), then college.

Yeah in the US you have to go 1-8 grade before you go to high school (9-12) then so on with college if you elect to.

People from Cologne are the most open people in germany. They are open to new people and make easy friendships. I bet you enjoyed the guys you meet from cologne. But also i know a lot of funny austrians. So you should have had a funny time!
