at least they got good pieces. That their gms just acquiring shit, isnt the fault of the players. But they actually play their draft picks. We..... not sooooo much.

I mean I don't get why alot of you guys are still rooting for the Flyers, what's the point, your clearly not having fun? Is there something I dont get? I'm a fan because I always love the way the franchise do things, it's not always pretty but usually exciting, which is the main reason I wanna watch hockey. I hate the montreal canadien, hate the way they build, hate their draft picks, hate their play style, so I just don't watch them or pay attention. That's basically why I'm a Flyers fan living in montreal since start of 2000.

I'm confused, how does signing a proven PP specialist at minimum wage that can be buried in the AHL "hurt" the team.
I mean he's not going to block anyone if he's washed up, anymore than Stewart blocked anyone (given 6 rookie forwards played more minutes).
And if York can't beat out Yandle, well, he could use some time to marinate in LHV.

My suspicion is Yandle will end up sitting in the press box for a good part of the season, but he's a better choice as an injury replacement than Morin right now (unless Morin takes a big step up in TC).

Yandle has value if used correctly, don't play him too many minutes or give him defensive responsibilities.

That's called blind loyalty and it enables the franchise to continue to make poor decisions that don't bring us closer to the actual objective; winning the Cup.

I 1000% prefer get better or die trying then just being like montreal...never signing top ufas never having or really rarely blockbuster trade, never had a ppg player since Vincent Damphousse. I 1000% like trying and not working out then just staying put and praying for the best.

We were in the finals 10 years ago, lost in 6 without a goaler, if that's nothing then alot of franchise are nothing .

Unfortunately I was birthed into being a fan of Philadelphia teams. I don’t live out of region so perhaps that can be easier for others to just pick up & go without that local attachment/easy access.

What I mean by like how they do things, is they try, top ufas, big trade, retooling, having ppg players, Pronger, Forsberg, nice draft pick in the 1st round man I could go on and on. The thing is I can compare easily with montreal, sometimes it's harder to see and easier to whine.

The Flyers glory days are over unfortunately. It was a great run from 74 pretty much all the way to 2010 (arguably 2012), but since then we've become one of the most mediocre organizations in the NHL. Thats why you see the skepticism and frustration here. We want a return to the glory days.

True, but I don't see it as bad as you guys see it. Again maybe I'm wrong and the season will be horrible, but I doubt it. Last season was really 1 of the worst, easily as hard as the one after the Richards and Carter draft. But usually the Flyers don't stay low for long, I mean 2020 we went to 2nd round even if our play was putrid.

True with Snider you knew something will happen, but like I said the more you try the more you will have wrongs but it's better then not trying.

I should also add that in the US hockey isn’t nearly as popular as it is in Canada. You have other sports like football, basketball, baseball, etc. that a far more popular to play/watch. So to be a hockey fan even in bigger market like Philadelphia you really have to go out of your way to become interested in the sport. Thus like really creating more of a cult/niche like following for those that actually do.

I'd argue that blindly accepting any sports team management offices decision in the name of "being a fan" makes you less of a fan than actively taking an interest in roster construction and real needs, but what do I know.

The difference is I don't blindly accept it, I wanna see first if it works, then I'll react appropriately. If it was me, beside Ellis I would've done things differently. Like I said it's not NHL 21 and I don't think the moves are as bad as reflected here.

If I'm blindly accepting, your blindly refusing, we will judge his move appropriately in a couple months. For now its just speculation on both side. Still excited .

There was a time when I was optimistic about what Fletcher and AV can do to a roster. They've proven endlessly that they make poor decisions and refuse to learn from them since they've been here. I'll be happy if I'm wrong, but I'm more than confident that I'm not.

I hope your not, I will not be able to pass threw another losing season like this. It was bad. Even when they were winning it was bad lol.
