My guess is that the league suspends Kassian long enough that he isn’t in the lineup against the Flames in the next 2 games against them. Also, Kassian was right. Tkachuk is a *****. If you’re going to run your mouth and charge players you better know how to back it up. Biggest turtle and ***** in the league and I’m glad that Kassian sent him a message. That is what results when a player is unwilling to answer the bell.

that’s exactly what will happen. They want to avoid “violence” at all costs. Charging and headshots are ok, but dropping the gloves is a no no in todays NHL.

How that first hit does not get looked at is beyond me, that was a direct head shot right in front of the ref, and not a call or anything. This one is not on Kassian or even Tkachuk, the refs let this one get out of control.

Tkachuk charges him, spots him being vulnerable, lays a shoulder DIRECTLY into his head and even Jumps off the ice (both skates are inches off the ice) to deliver this head hunt. These are precisely the rationals given to give such players as Torres 20 game suspensions.

This is a farce at this point and the Oilers would do well not only to contact the league office but contact other teams like the Kings and divisional foes that play Ratchuk the most and know exactly what he's about. maybe a collective lobby of teams could result in some of this crap being dealt with as per league rules.

The NHL is trolling member teams allowing this crap.

My only question to Ratchuk is at what point did he crap his pants when Tkachuk was raining punches on him. Another look of sheer terror on his face and the turtling wasn't working because toss was throwing him around the ice. f***ing hilarious.

Not surprising thing is Kass beating the crap out of Tkachuk is must watch viewing around the league. Pretty much every dressingroom you know teams are going "f*** yeah Kass, too bad the official intervened"

Hats off to some of the Oilers like Neal grabbing Flames and preventing them from saving ratboy.

I agree with everything in this thread but ultimately the oilers should’ve drafted this rat. It seemed all to obvious to me at the time, he’s talented and he pisses off everyone, something the oilers have sorely lacked for over a decade. Mind you, if he wore an oilers jersey he’d have received a 1 year suspension by now.

Exactly. the guy Chia drafted is probably sitting in his mom's basement eating pizza during that game.

When is Tkachuk’s hearing for the charge/headshot???

2 of his hits were predatory hits. No calls on either. I’m fine with that so long as the POS answers the bell for them. He refuses to answer the bell and he refuses to answer the bell for his play on a game in game out basis. I believe he does this because he knows the league will protect him.

We are at the point where refs refuse to make the call on his predatory hits and the league suspends anyone for standing up for those predatory hits.

The NHL is more bush league than a gardener convention.

The part about Tkachuks play I don't like is that he purposely avoids defending himself or dropping the gloves. He wants to make sure he's getting the max amount of penalty time against whatever guy tries to make him answer for the his style of play.

Why should the league protect a player who refuses to protect himself? I get it he's playing with an edge and that's his style. But if someone comes barreling at you pissed off don't start flip flopping and covering your head. Guy is going to end up with a major concussion one day or worse. I hope the extra 2 minutes of PP time was worth it.

Not the end of the world, they were clean/borderline hits, just wait till Kassian catches Chuckys head with one of these in the near future. Its going to be lovely.

Heres the issue. Nothing is going to happen to Tchfuk. He's what the league wants now. The Oilers need to handle this in the appropriate way of the league won't. That's not going after Tchfuk. It's sending Khaira over to monohan with the same.hits. it's Nurse taking the lumber to Johnny. Have nuge blindside Lindholm.

Don't wait for them to fight back because it's not happening. Be cheap shots exactly like them since you obviously won't get suspended.

I've been saying this forever. Oilers lack the lightweight rat. The guy who can go toe to toe with Tchfuk. Kassian is wayyy above his weight class he will never do it. Oilers need a Burtuzzi from det or a Lemieux from rangers or better yet Domi from MTL. They need their little pest

Somebody HAS to photoshop Kass as a Rottweiler going nuts on some chew toy named Tkachuk. I mean that's gotta be there in the highlights. Kass was tossing ratboy all over the place. That aspect of it was truly hilarious as well as landing several..

both hits clearly meet the criteria for a suspension. Truth is it was a hit on Kassian, if it was Bergeron, Marner, Goudreau or another player like that he is suspended for sure.

At least if he gets suspended the team might call up Benson for a couple games. Assuming they don't just... put Khaira in his spot or something.

Khaira had a similar type of incident, and as a result, it basically neutered him and turned him into an ineffective, soft player with next to nothing for aggression. Don't let this happen to you, Kass!!

That is exactly what happened to Khaira. Glad someone else sees it that way too.
