leafs are stacked with young prospects on the wing (Nylander,Marner,Brown,Timashov,Leipsic) to go along with vets like JVR, and Komarov.

they could use a good D prospect though. Kapanen has been on fire to start the year (4g,5a,9pts in 6 games). He is also still younger than most AHL rookies.

what would your team be willing to give up in a good ol' 1 for 1 prospect kinda deal?

Off the top of my head Philadelphia and Anaheim have some of the stronger pools of D prospects, no?

Jordan Subban's spot has essentially been taken by Stecher. Is Subban a starter for Kapanen?

I honestly think we're better off keeping Kapanen. We're not going to potential top-pairing RHD who we desperately need by trading just Kapanen. We have Zaistev and then Carrick/Corrado/Lindgren to fill in the 2nd and 3rd pairing RHD spots. Not many in our system have a lethal wrister like Kappy. I'd rather trade one of Timashov/Bracco/Brown than Kapanen right now.

Not sure what other teams will give up, but we should be targetting a high potential RHD. Some of these guys are probably unavailable. In a perfect world, we get a guy who is exempt from the expansion draft.

There's a guy or two there that I don't like (DeAngelo), but I trust our scouts to make the right call.

Depending on what happens with all the lindholm stuff, I'd consider something around montour, but all depends on what happens by Dec 1st

Who cares what the "value" of Kapanen is? We'd be stupid to trade him.

STAY THE COURSE......PLAY THE KIDS.......IT'S OKAY TO LOSE.......KEEP YOUR ASSETS........DRAFT.......

Cross off Philly.

For RHD, they only have Myers and Friedman in the pipeline and only Gudas on the roster who shoots right.

Philly also has Voracek, Simmonds, Schenn and Konecny as top 6 wingers. So no real end for Kap....especially with Lindblom on the way next year.

Would a Kylington - Kapanen swap make sense? Flames get a young skilled offensive winger and Leads get a young puck moving dman?

Kylington is not a good fit for us tbh. I feel like playing without the puck is a much bigger problem for us than moving it.

Ideally we would be looking for someone like Andrew Nielsen. That being said, he plays for our team and there is no need to move a blossuming skilled forward when he can either be an effective NHLer or trade chip apart of a big deal (when ready).

Essentially, he wont garner enough now that would justify the move. Develop within, make moves when the stock is high.

He's having a pretty dominant year with the Marlies so far and was great in pre-season. He turned 20 this summer too so this makes it very promising. I don't think he'll be in the AHL for long.

Due to our current needs it would make sense but it would have to really fit our D needs with good potential, not just any D.

Wotherspoon might be an option then. He's a bit older but could probably crack Toronto's D pretty easily and is still pretty young. I feel like Toronto and Calgary make pretty good trading partners, so I think there is something there - Calgary's doesn't have a ton of available spaces on the back end much like Toronto up front.

Rasmus Andersson would be the perfect fit. RHD.

Not for sale for at least a few years until the Leafs know what they have. Plus the offers are very underwhelming.

Would need a blue chip D prospect to move him, as Kapanen is a blue chipper himself. Ideally a team like Colorado would want him, sadly they don't have the pieces that make sense.

I've always been a big fan of Pulock and Bowey. Think those teams need a more pro end talent though given they're in win - now mode. What would it take Islanders or a Capitals fans? JVR?
