Thanks but I really doubt it ever gets better while Melnyk owns the team. We'll get another star player and be forced to trade them when it comes time to pay them. We'll probably end up losing the team because nobody is going to show up to games anymore. This is the end of the Senators.
I hope not, I don’t wanna see a franchise forced to move due to inept ownership. That would suck for the loyal Ottawa fans like yourself. I couldn’t imagine what I would do if the Lightning moved.

Very frusterating as a Canucks fan continuing to see other teams weaponize cap space and add picks.

Canucks have yet to do that and they host the draft next year.

As long as there are local options and a way forward, the league won't pull the plug or allow a move.

I hope not as well, but not even the most die-hard Sens fans give a shit about the team going into this upcoming season. Melnyk has completely scorched the once strong hockey market that is Ottawa. Hope he enjoys his new liver that a Ottawa Senators fan gave him.

Cally to the Rangers and the human interest "captain's coming home" angle would give the local media something to focus on that won't be how crappy the team is. Not a big deal, and NY hockey media is really chill compared to Montreal or Toronto, but it's something.

Guys like Vesey (eh), DeAngelo (already washed out of Tampa organization) and Spooner (underrated depth scorer, at least I like him) might end up in the pot for the other two teams if there's interest.

Yeah, melnyk really is a POS. I hope for the sake of all Sens fans that he is not the owner for much longer.

There isn't a market there anymore. Melnyk has made the entire city apathetic about hockey. It is a completely broken market, and it will take a considerable amount of effort to build back together.

Good luck with what? I was just saying pressure is on Sens to trade him if they want anything in return.....It's not like a team hasn't lost an elite ufa player very recently

your missing the point. they could get that at the deadline too. no incentive to trade him now if all their getting is a prospect and a first.

As a Leafs fan, I want to see this happen. Tampa's lineup doesn't really scare me a whole lot but I love the way they play. Plus it'll be nice to see the Bruins never make it past the second round. :)

Holy crap. EK on the Bolts is just stupid but I just read the stuff about Kucherov maybe involved. I hope that's not the case but we'll see I guess. Bolts are my second favorite team (raised in Central FL so have been to a bunch of games). Absolutely crazy to think it might actually happen.

The Canucks have no place for players like Callahan. It's all about 39% corsi Jay Beagle.
Haha

Yeah, Benning is good at drafting yet he won’t acquire more picks. Seems very counter intuitive.

mdz, Edler, gagner, Tanev, Sutter, Markstrom, Hutton should all be moved ASAP.

Or take on a bad contract and get picks. Would much rather Callahan and picks then Beagle.

That was Eklund. Take it with a Dead Sea and a half worth of salt

I have a feeling NYR take on Cally's contract, hold onto TB 2019 2nd unconditional so that 1st can go to Ottawa and NYR get 2020 1st or a prospect of value similar to a late 1st to early 2nd.

As a Leafs fan it should scare you to have to get past the top 2 defensemen in the world every season. McDonagh as a #3? Yikes...

Just the same, new ownership that cares about righting wrongs would build enthusiasm and the market could rebound very quickly with a proper rebuild. The returns on EK and Stone would be a start.
