Confirmed with Link: Kane to Detroit

If he gets healthy and plays decently, and we are out of the playoff hunt completely, we will get a decent haul for him.
Yeah...win win signing by Yzerman.

scenario A: He clicks, we make the playoffs, and he who knows what happens from there.
scenario B: He plays well enough, we fall out of the playoff picture, and trade him for a 1st..?
scenario C: For whatever unlikely reason, he looks out of place, and the injury is still affecting him. He plays out his 1 year deal here, and then becomes a UFA again.

The injury still affecting him is far from an unlikely scenario

I'm assuming Kane is going to treat us similar to New York, we probably even have the upper hand to bring him back for multiple years if he is healthy and works out. He picked Detroit, and it sounds like when being traded last year he was very warm to coming here at the time. Wants to be here, has friends on the team, likes Yzerman and Lalonde.. seems like a good situation all around for him to be excited to play hockey again.

Since people seem to be forgetting or have missed it: Kane has a NTC. Suggesting we just trade at the deadline most likely won't be a thing.
Yeah but for arguments sake, let's say the Wings are 8+ points out of a playoff spot, why wouldn't Kane entertain a trade to Colorado or Florida or Boston, or whoever is a contender in late February?

What? Lol
East is full of paper tigers, I think TB/FLA/NYR are the only teams that would have a chance against the Wings in a 7 game series. Even then I think they can take FLA if Bob isnt 'on' and the NYR will likely choke before the 3rd round anyway. I think if Detroit makes the playoffs they could have a deep run, especially if they bring in a couple of big bodies at the TDL.

Finally, Detroit has a player worthy of Doug Brown’s old number for the first time in decades.

Doubt he'll be ready to go by Thursday, but man would that be a fun storyline.

If it works and he gels, Yzerman will likely extend him for a couple. If it doesn't work, and we completely fall out of the playoff picture by the deadline, we flip him for a first. Win-win scenario here in my books.

Plus it's just funny that Chicago fanboys will have to see Kane in a Wings jersey...

I wonder what Kane gets Sprong to get #88??
A signed agreement to stay away from his mother?
