I still can't stand the Vancouver Canucks. There's not one player that remains from those dickhead Canucks teams that the Hawks kept playing every playoffs but the hatred that festered inside me because of those series' remains burning inside of me.

I must say though, slowly but surely I can feel it starting to subside more and more. I actually like some of the players they have now. Hughes, Boeser etc.

Sedins though :thumbd:
Kesler :thumbd::thumbd:
Bieksa :thumbd::thumbd::thumbd:
Burrows :thumbd::thumbd::thumbd::thumbd:

Couldn't stand those shitbags.

He probably will do better PPG wise than last season.

But yeah all these guys have high thoughts on themselves...Kane himself must have some reason to be confident as right now he is leaving millions of dollars on the table.

I don't think Kane left much on the table.

I don't think anyone is lining up to give him much.

True contenders don't have cap space, and no one is giving term to someone who's just going to end up on LTIRetirement.

After joining the Rangers, he said something along the lines of " I don't know if it's going to go as well as everyone thinks". And he was right.

He says he's feeling good now. I'm hopeful.

Kane also says he thought there was a chance the Hawks would bring him back after getting the 1OA.

He turned down multi year deals he said so probably two-three million at least.

Clearly betting on himself...if he bucks the trend and comes back great he'll get another good payday in free agency especially with the cap going up

If his hip issues didn't happen and he had his usual Kane type season he would have got 8-10 million on the UFA market

Agree with this. Also take into account that he's only going to play for about 75% of the season. One year prove it type deal likely playing on the 1st line with a guy he's had success with in the past, and almost certainly getting #1 PP time. If it goes well, he's right in line for a big deal in the off-season when the cap goes up and more teams have more flexibility.

A few comments on Kane from the Wings board after the game.

"A crazy game but thought Kane looked good and confident. Kane's confidence is what makes him good."

"Yeah, nothing wrong on his debut.
Was on the ice for only one goal, when Sharks scored 4-1. That's was Larkin bad pass and Husso giving a weak goal. Nothing to do with Kane.
Kane was also top3 at xGF% (with Kostin and Fischer)."

"Looked solid. If he had scored on that breakaway chance it would have been a close to perfect debut."

"It was nice to see how good his stickhandling is and how high his IQ is. If he's not in pain, if he has lost a step, it doesn't look like he'll have any trouble playing in slow motion"

"I think he did lose a slight step or is just not at game speed still. But there were times where it looked like he was coasting, but if you really looked, then you'd see he was just reading the play and made a pass or shot deflection on defense. Reminded me of what datsyuk did a lot in his later years."

I only caught a little more than the 2nd half of the game.

He looked ok for not playing. Made a nice interception in the slot and hit post.

If Wings fans are impressed after this showing, they are in for a treat if he really gets up to speed.

I watched the first and most of the second. Thought he looked a lot better than last year. He doesn’t seem to be compensating on one side in his skating

Yzerman played a smart game. Reminds of me when LA was up and coming but they looked to be hitting a ceiling. Then dum dum in Philly lets Carter/Richards go, a year or two later they both end up on LA's top 6. Now Detroit's first line is Cat & Kane, albeit Kane is older but poaching another team's top line when they can still play is a hell of a way to boost your depth chart.
