I agree but Id like to also see him do something with the puck after he protects it. I think this is a pivotal season for him as a Ranger. I think he will have to show more this season.
His wrister isn't the best. He should work on his shot and his skating.

Most important part is the skating. Just skate hard, shield the puck, crash the net, deke/go backhand/make a play from there would be nice to see.

He should try to become a similar player to Rick Nash in his prime, in terms of playing style.

Let not throw the baby out with the bath water!!
2 years of covid
Significant Injuries
Caught covid
coaching
Poor vet leadership in the 1st year
This all stunted his growth.. all the drafted players and prospects have had their growth stunted..it a mess. But it is a good time to steal some talent that has been miss managed..

Instead of letting some other team "Zibanejad trade" us out of one of ours.

I think his shot is worse than his skating tbh . He’s not fast but he’s an NHL caliber skater

If you look through Twitter, Kakko is either a Finnish hockey player or a Japanese girl band.

says man on internet forum about professional hockey player

Yeah it isn't hard to critique a player for playing tentatively, or playing soft, without getting weird about it.

Indecisiveness can be a killer at all levels of sports. Especially in a game as fast as hockey.

Really happy he is training with Bestshot. They are a company that, as one might guess, analyzes and helps players improve their shot. I think Kakko's biggest weakness has been that he does not have much faith in his shot and the defenders know it.
Yes, more of that playoff snipe please

This post makes absolutely zero sense. We are not allowed to critique anymore? Everyone knows Kakko plays super timid, nothing new about it. And how do you that I am ''beta'' you do not know me at all. Kakko has been timid since day 1. It's a huge weakness of his.

I instantly stop reading posts when I see the word beta or alpha. Maybe it's just me.

It's kind of cheap and definitely cringey at this point. It's usually meant as an insult of a person's character and fortitude, if not their masculinity, more than a critique, as if someone can make it to the NHL without way above average fortitude.

Jesus christ I used it as an example, I do not like the word either but it suits him. Dude is a passenger x 100. No killer instincts, no confidence, no sisu.

You guys are such snowflakes, crying about non-issues. I swear to god this Z generation is softer than cotton candy.

Are you guys seriously happy with the way he has performed so far? Do you like how he has no confidence and no killer instincts?

Dude you need to work on your vocabulary and your argumenting skills, lacklustre, just like Kakko's fighting spirit, congrats, you're as soft as him.

Also you said some random shit back at me, literally the same thing you accuse me of doing.

Nice ad hominum. I wasn't crying, I voiced an opinion. Guess you took offense. So are you a snowflake? There's a difference between constructive criticism and being a douchebag. Now maybe that's not where you were coming from, I don't know you, you could be a terrific dude, but that's how it comes off. Deal with it, or don't. For a guy throwing "criticism" you're awfully sensitive to it yourself, though I was critical of the TERM, not YOU. If you don't like the word either you'd think you would get where the sentiment was coming from.
And dude, I'm early Gen X, get a grip. Hahaha.
As for Kakko? No I'm not happy with how he has performed and I DO think he needs more confidence. He'll still be 21 when the season starts, I'm not that worried about it. But again, I'm not at all saying people can't, or shouldn't, be critical...
