Not sure what was said exactly. I was doing family stuff and missed the broadcast. To be honest it gets rather irritating. I've grown weary of listening to McGuire minimize our picks and utter just plain stupidity while the other clown gives away the picks as the team on the clock gets ready to make it.

Just another example of the NHL being represented by knuckleheads. The optics are terrible IMHO.

By the way AK, I've not had the chance to thank you directly for all the great content you provide to us.

It's remarkable how you run all over the globe gathering great info. Kudos to you.

Also, the pod w Edge and Brooklyn was absolutely top shelf.

You could not be doing a better job if we were paying you.

Thanks again.

Thanks man. That means a lot and will certainly add to the motivation I have to keep going. Our latest podcast is all about the draft so check it out

I watched his Worlds highlights again with the sound off. Just remarkable.

In trying not to over think it the thing that really strikes me is just the sheer effort this kid puts out. I don't think I've ever seen anything like it.

If you are playing with this guy on the same line I would imagine you are compelled to work harder than you ever have...along with the whole team. I guess that's a pretty tangible intangible.

Anyway, If Kreider is still with us as the season starts it should be a treat to watch him and Mika with Kakko.

I know that Kakko's skill set is higher than Kreider's but physically they are comparable.

The speed, the physicality.

Kreider posted in front of the net. Mika waiting to pounce on the loose pucks. And Kappo just driving our opponents nuts.

That would be a joy to watch.

Only player in the draft who scored a 10 in Competitiveness.

Thing is I think part of it is that the guy is just a huge troll.

My guess is that he does not pull any of his antics or silliness when say Pittsburgh is making the selection.

Overall I'd say he's a guy who's a little too convinced of his own importance to the game and has to prove how smart and relevant he is.

That's just the impression I get personally.

P.S.

I'll never forget Michael Nylander basically telling Pierre how full of $4!T he was in pre-game ice side interview. The expression on Pierre's face was priceless.

Maybe someone can find that video somewhere. All-time Pierre/NYR classic.

I like how Pierre still has to mention how he used to coach guys who are in the hockey world when he's mentioning them. His last coaching job was in the ECHL in 1996-97. Like in order to understand Pat Verbeek's importance you have to know Pierre coached him for 67 games 25 years ago.

Usually when former coaches/players who are now in the broadcast side talk about their past career they do it kind of jokingly and with modesty (see JD, Olczyk, Keith Jones), but Pierre talks about it like he was actually an impact coach. This is not the Bill Belichick coaching tree of the hockey world. It's been decades dude let it go.

I'm still learning how to embed images & gif's into my replies, so hopefully my entry makes sense.

Congratulations on your player, future is looking very good with Kaapo & Kravtsov & Trouba.

As a lifelong Canucks Fan I now feel the need to shower after complimenting your team .
Haha that's great, well done! Thank you and its not like the Canucks have chopped liver. EP40,Boeser,Horvat,Hughes,Podkolzin down the road can be really scary out west. The sky is the limit with those guys.

He's always so nice. Even takes his hat off when greeting people, class act.
Isn't that like, normal? Sure, some teenagers might forget about manners but this is the same thing as taking your hat off when you go inside, open the door for the ladies etc.

He was inside in that video with a hat on, as were many of the fans. The players were also wearing hats a lot at Rogers Arena in the draft. When watching the reality TV shows about NHL Winter Classics, I've noticed that many NHLers even eat with a beanie on. When visiting New York in February I noticed that people do that a lot in Brooklyn too.

In this day and age? Not at all. It's now rare to see young people with respect. Different times.
