Well there's nothing to be confused about. It's fairly obvious someone like Zibanejad and Panarin will not face the same consequences for turning over the puck as an inexperienced young player would.

Some takes on his visit to a very popular finnish sports podcast yesterday:

He said that Gallant seems very good coach so far and practise sessions on ice are shorter than before with previous coach, as in before after the practise they still had some skating drills etc.

Host tried to bait him with questions regarding Quinn being a bad developer of younger players but he didn't comment much on that, just said that he was moved around a lot. He also said that Lafreniere had a even more pressure than he did as #2 and could relate to him, host laughed that 1 and 2 pick sat together on a bench at times during last season.

Also they made a point that regarding data and xG he was very unlucky last season, and Kakko said that well maybe but he can't get behind that and this season he must score.

Host said that Rangers core looks great this season and asked that if there's good winning vibe in the locker room and Kakko said that definetly and he personally feels better and more confident than before (He sounded very excited that they changed coach)

He clearly has matured and isn't that shy rookie anymore. He spent the summer working hard with Rantanen and Ristolainen and seems very close with especially Rants. Both are quite similar players style wise and Rantanen has mentored him.

Could have been in the end of the shift. I saw that the some New Jersey players went for the bench when he got the breakaway. They could have started the shift at the same time. He looked strong like a bull there though

Kakko's skating is not a hallmark of his for sure, but luckily his game isn't really predicated in that. Just needs to be good enough which it seems like it's getting there
