Eh, he's looking a lot better lately but he's being too indecisive with the puck. Mak ethe decision to pass or shoot and then do it. Start simple at least for now

So ... he’s scored a point in one of the past 13 games. I’d expect more from that even from a 2nd overall rookie defenseman. He’s had a point in 12 of the 41 games he’s played. AHL time is more than in order.

He has actually been playing better with Chytil & Howden. And shooting more. At this point, I would keep him on that line. Maybe replace Howden with Lemieux when he is back.

Stop it...he's not going to the AHL. This is not a skills issue with him...it's a stamina issue.

Won't matter if he does to the AHL as the same shit that's happening here where he's gassed after 20-30 seconds and can't keep up with his linemates will happen in Hartford..

What we see of Kakko is what we will continue to get...it's just the way it is. I've accepted it and I think the rest of m bro's in here should as well.

I've said it a ton of times and I'll say it again but it's so obvious, he needs an offseason where he can seriously train, get into a power skating/stength training regiman which he never had this past offseason seeing he was playing in tournaments and his league play.

Next year after he gets the training he needs, seeing he has the skill set, I have no doubt he'll morph into the guy we thought we drafted. Sure it would have been nice if it happened this year but shit happens and so he'll start to be great when he's 19 instead of 18...lol

That whole line has been awful. When Carpiniello started calling it the "diaper line" I thought it was stupid because it sounds like a line that ****s their pants the moment they enter the offensive zone. Little did I know it was accurate

Happy Monday afternoon to you!

Sad indeed.

They haven't had much puck possession. Usually the puck gets taken right back as they enter the offensive zone. Only Chytil has been able to manage the puck somewhat, but even he remains subpar. He definitely has flashes of brilliance. Kakko really needs a big jump in physical ability this offseason to compete next season. He has the tools, but his mind wants things his body can't cash right now. Howden, too, needs to develop more physically. Then he needs to be removed from the line. Or before. Whichever. He's looking like a fringe third-liner to good fourth-liner right now.

At this point quite mutch so.

Personally knew that both of them would have hard rookie year but Kakko surprice me.
It seems Kakko has not developped skating at all. He had problems in it even in Liiga and now its even more clear.

AHL would do kid good.
But everyone was raving about how NHL ready Kakko was and how Hughes will be manhandled. Although in points they’re not far apart, Hughes is very noticeable when I watch the Devils. It’s funny I was one of the only people on here who said they’d rather have Hughes than Kakko prior to the draft

okay?

The Rangers didn't have an opportunity to take Hughes or they would have....

Do you want a medal for saying you liked the #1 prospect in the draft as opposed to the #2?

Kakko will be fine. We don't need to lean on him like a bottom feeder team needs to lean on there prospects, no need to rush at all. (Buffalo, Edm, NJ, Ott,) . He was a gift from the hockey gods. He's insulated well with a ton of talent above him and is no way this season a disappointment. He will slowly become a Sasha Barkov type with time. Zero worries.
