It looks like Chevy threw Comrie a bone to get a NHL salary to play on the Moose, and now got the real backup.

This is good to see. Much better backup for Helle. Hopefully we can get Helles starts even further down.
Ya i like Kapo more than Comrie.
I thought they were done after signing Comrie.....Lehkonen is a competent backup.....why did they waste money on Comrie?

He doesn't make enough to count against the cap playing on the Moose.

I am surprised we got him and no other team pounced him... he was I think the SJS goalie last season who had great underlying goalie stats despite average top line numbers, there were some fanbase with downbad goaltending who were hoping their GM took a shot at him at the deadline. Would have expected him to get a better gig than a 2nd fiddle to Helle with limited number of starts.
Smart move on both sides. Kaapo gets to rebuild his resume on what was the top defensive team last year. Saw what Larry Bro was able to do. He looked good in Minnesota and I think the Jets will get something closer to that version.

Totally fine with this as a back up. I suspect he will be LB-like. He is a decent goalie and with a good structure and Vezina partner he is in a solid spot to be successful.

They are calling him a pretty solid goalie to have. 3.64 GAA and a sv% that starts with a 0.8. OK then.
Most of that was playing for the Sharks. When he played for the Wild and NJ he had numbers well above .900.

THIS is DEVAJU! People here said the SAME thing when Winnipeg signed Laurent Brossoit the first time. Please don't make me pull up the comments there. I am THAT petty that I will do that. I was one of if not the first to look at the positives. Kaapo Kahkonen as someone else stated is an above .900 goalie when playing for a decent team. Ambitiously, he will play just as good in a backup role to Hellebuyck.
