Because it was not signed by a Russian goaliethat’s a terrible contract if you ask me
What the heck are you talking about ? I never said Bob’s contract was goodBecause it was not signed by a Russian goalie
And has been in Vezina conversations for basically every other year of his career8 years for a 29-year-old goalie coming off an underwhelming season

He had two great seasons in the AHL back to back? General consensus is he's the best goalie not in the NHL.Why are so many high on Askarov? Other than his draft pedigree he seems like a gamble as do most promising goalies.
This is also not the Bob's contract. Cheaper than Hellebuyck, and Saros is not that much worse. What the heck are you talking about ? I never said Bob’s contract was good
Great deal for the Preds. They can have the best tandem in the league for the next 3ish years and then trade one of them (likely Saros)
And then be looking for a goalie while going through Askarov's growing pains?Or they could've traded Saros at his peak and gotten a forward that the team sorely needs but yeah 3 years from now is the optimal time.
I'll be surprised if there isn't a full NMC for the first ~4-5 years of the contract.Great deal for the Preds. They can have the best tandem in the league for the next 3ish years and then trade one of them (likely Saros)

Some people in this thread have absolutely 0 clue how to develop a goalie
I mean they just saw what top goaltenders fetched on the market. Markström with two years left, retained, basically nothing. Ullmark, arguably Boston took the worst of it. Saros is better than both of them, but I think this pretty much showed that there was no premiur return available.Or they could've traded Saros at his peak and gotten a forward that the team sorely needs but yeah 3 years from now is the optimal time.
3 years was a guesstimate. Whatever the NMC years are, move him after. Askarov is still hella youngI'll be surprised if there isn't a full NMC for the first ~4-5 years of the contract.
Man I was just thinking, that if the canucks still had mikheyev, I'd totally offer him and the 2nd for askarovHe had two great seasons in the AHL back to back? General consensus is he's the best goalie not in the NHL.
So not ready for the incoming onslaught of shitty Askari's proposals. Yes, we'd love to take your second rounders, busts and crap for our best prospect.
