Letting this guy reach free agency is going to be a huge mistake! They need to get him extended asap. He's not a superstar but he's a piece every team is desperate to find.

What are you willing to give him, seems like 2 years at 1.25 million per sounds about right

3 years, $7M ($2.3M/yr AAV)

Wow, I can't get there,.

I'm so torn on Brazeau. I really think he is a top 6 or bust guy, I just don't think there is enough to his game beyond his hand to make him a good player on a 3rd or 4th line.

He has 3 goals in the last 23 games (including tonight) , and really probably should have spent some time on the 9th floor.

I still think his role on the team is hanging by a thread, and a 10 game bad stretch, and he could find himself on waivers.

When I look at next season and see the team adding a top 6 winger, I'm not sure there is a role for Braz

I think you make a lot of sense with your thinking on Brazeau. I do not think many fans want to and tear the guy about either, he is just not that important to this team, and if a deal is to be made and he might need to be the added piece do it. You are right he should have been scratched at times.

Too slow. IDK why he never plays on the fourth has good size and some skill you don't need 3 speed demons down there.

I think he's a solid 13F and would give him the minimum next year.

I think Brazeau is interesting given the fact he is basically found money. You didn’t draft him, so you don’t have that attachment. You don’t feel the need to make good on your investment in that regard.

He’s been one of their better offensive players this season, whether that is an indictment on the team, or a testament to the player is up for the debate. I would argue the former.

I would consider giving him another year, but I personally wouldn’t do a multi-year commitment. I think they could do better, but maybe there is more there with him.

It took Mike Knuble 6 seasons in the NHL to figure it out, it's a little early to write him off. He has to stay within the bounds of what he's capable of, there's things he doesn't have the foot speed to do but he makes high skill plays when he's with skill players.

I said it before and will say it again. Knuble led the NCAA in scoring one year, he is no Knuble.

Yeah, I think his passing from down low is underrated and what elevates him. He makes a lot of quick plays from behind the net to the slot that teams don't expect. I think he set up Frederic that way at the start of the season.

Brazeau led the OHL in goals, 2nd in points. They're different guys, Knuble was good enough to play in the league when he wasn't putting up points but he wasn't the playmaker Brazeau is either.
He may not be Knuble, but the expectations of his ceiling aren’t Knuble-level either. I don’t suggest signing him for the top line. I want him here for the bottom-six, spot powerplay duty and the ability to move up in the lineup occasionally when required.

I’d hate to lose him.
